The Saga Continues:
For the Children

...
...
...
[The next day, Topher wakes up early and returns to his original human state. He crawls out of bed, not disturbing Cruce's sleep.]
...
Topher: [He turns and smiles at Cruce.] ...(Oh fine, have your sleep...) [He walks out of the room...]
...
...
...
[An hour later, he leaves with Janet. Cruce is still asleep...]
...
"Cruce isn't feeling too well. He said he felt real sick yesterday..."
...
-St. K. Campus.-

...
[Topher walks on his own to the seventh grade bench. There, he sees Pat and Bongo...]
...
Pat: Oh, Topher! [She runs up to him while Bongo harasses Kevin as usual.]
Topher: Hey Pat!
Pat: Hey, where's Cruce? Doesn't he come to school with you?
Topher: Well... Um... [Scratches the back of his head.]
...
[At his house, Cruce lay on his side, his eyes shut tight. He is troubled by something...]
...
"I'm not sure if any of you've heard, but there was a situation with Cruce's mom..."
...
"It's pretty complicated, but he's not willing to come today..."
...
Cruce: ... (Leave me... alone...)
...
"(I can't just do that, hey... I know you... You--...ne we n--d... --n't you?)"
...
Cruce: (The one...? A-are you an Eclipse?!)
...
"(...-ipse... you kn--...-the Ecl--s? You hav--...the on-...)"
...
Cruce: ...[His eyes shoot open. The voice in his head fades...] ... Damn... [He looks to his side. Topher is not there.] ...Tophs?
...
[Cruce sits up, looking around the room with still waking vision.]
Cruce: ...(Where'd that boy go?) ... [He spots a note on his desk... Hesitating a few moments, he stands and takes a look at the note.]

"Cruce,
I know you didn't want to go to school today, so I told your mom that you weren't feeling well. I hope I didn't wake you up earlier. Sleep well, and try not to think too much about yesterday.
Love,
Topher. ♥"

Cruce: [Chuckles quietly to himself.] (Tophs, you're such a girl... Thanks though.)
...
[After tending to his early morning affairs, he returns to his room without the slightest inkling of what to do now. At least, that is before he stares at his V equipment long enough to get motivated to actually play.]
...
Cruce: (...Yeah... don't think too much about it... Or those voices... 'Guess I'll play some V to get my mind off of it. 'Wonder what's going on in Gather Forces.)
...
[Cruce puts the helmet over his head, signaling the wallscreen to power on through wireless transactions...]

-Log in Hall.-

...
[Again, Cruce finds himself in the mansion-like hall. He walks forward to the giant double-doors.]
...
Cruce: (I wonder... Now, I've not used V since the collision of worlds... Do I still have all my powers here? 'Guess we'll find out in Gathering Forces.)
System: Welcome to V, User.
[The holograms appear on either side of Cruce as he continues to walk. Again, he ignores these setting screens and stops at the holographic keyboard.]
System: Please insert user password.
Cruce: Will do. [He types in his password, followed by placing his palm on the screen. It identifies him.]
System: Access approved. [The screen vanishes.] Welcome to V, Cruce Maximilius. Please insert voice command.
Cruce: System, load Gathering Forces.
System: Affirmative. Initiating Gathering Forces... Please wait...
...
[After a moment, the enormous double-doors begin to open. The mansion halls light up with the greenish radiance of the glowing wire-frame grid that makes up the surroundings of Gathering Forces. It is similar to a high tech computer grid, though realistic in structure. The ground is a field of millions of pipes glowing with green neon. Cruce steps into this futuristic world, hoping desperately for no error this time...]
...
[That is not avoided. The error, however, is small... smaller. Cruce enters this world dressed in his gamer "costume", which consists of high tech gear strapped on an even higher tech appearing black trench coat.]
...
Party: Cruce Maximilius (Lv. <Error> wink
HP: <Error>
MP: <Error>
SP: <Error>
-Neon Prairie.-

...
[The double-doors behind Cruce are gone. He holds an arm out, summoning a small hologram which reveals his status...]
Cruce: [Views his status.] ...What the...? Level... error? What's going on here? Hm... At least I still have all my equipment... [He looks at his surroundings.] 'Wonder what I was doing in the Prairie... A quest or somethin'? ...Hm... This error thing is freaking me out. [He looks through his inventory, which is displayed on the small hologram.] ...Aaaand I'm out of warp devices. Graaaaand-tastic. Getegauz is miles from here... 'Guess I'm walking.
[As he starts on ahead in the virtual wilderness, he notices another error in his settings...]
Cruce: Holy crap, even my class is screwed up... I was on my Marauder last time I logged in. What the heck is wrong? ...Where's my weapon...? [Still perusing through the hologram, he stops when he discovers his abilities list. It, too, shows signs of an error.] Man, my data must've gotten messed up when I blacked out at Al's place... Well, son of a b***h...
...
[Before him, another player in glowing red has just finished battle with one of the prairie's wild monsters. To Cruce, a hologram with information appears over the player's head. It shows the insignia of the Sin Forces, which is opposite the Defender Forces. Cruce is a part of the latter; the "good guys", in this case.]
...
Cruce: Oh great... Sin... Look's like he's farming. Hm. [He runs unassumingly passed this figure.]
Sin Player: [Spots Cruce.] Yo, Defender!
Cruce: (Ah, dammit...) [Stops and looks back.] Look, man. I've got a few bugs with my character.
Freefall: [His character name is Freefall; a chosen name rather than his Earthen name.] Sorry, no sympathy here. That's some nice gear you have... [As he says this, he drops into a battle stance, wielding his black-bladed katana with both hands and a menacing grin upon his face.]
Cruce: [He glares at Freefall.] You don't understand. My whole character is screwed up. And I know you Sins don't play fair, but I don't think you're gonna want my gear or money if I'm chalked full of errors.
Freefall: [He does a few slow practice swings with his sword.] Are you just makin' this up?
Cruce: Wh--...[Shakes head.] I'm not a Sin. I don't lie about this kinda stuff.
Freefall: You callin' us dishonest?! ... [He smirks.] You've done your homework. [He rushes for Cruce, blade at his side.]
Cruce: [As Freefalll swipes upward predictably, Cruce hops back, creating more distance between he and the player.] !!
Freefall: Ah! [He charges again, his blade's runes glowing dark red. This time, he spins before unleashing a horizontal slash at Cruce. The range of the attack increases just before Cruce can leap back again. It slices into Cruce's chest, glowing energy showing where the slash was. Cruce feels no pain, but a shock to his virtual nervous system.]
Cruce: ! [Holds his chest as he lands.] ... [The virtual wound quickly heals. He watches the other player charge his katana with a dark red aura.] (So did that hurt me at all? My HP's blocked...)
Freefall: [Before he can do anything else, he notices Cruce's HP acting as a hologram above his head.] ...What the hell...? [The bar reads completely full.] How much HP do you have...?
Cruce: That's just it! I don't know! (But... I feel like... I feel powerful... )
Freefall: Well, watch it drop! [He lashes out with his katana, a diagonal red shockwave shooting at Cruce. Cruce crosses his arms, bracing himself for the attack.]
Cruce: [The shockwave slices through him, throwing him to the ground. He quickly jumps back to his feet, wounds healing again. His HP bar hasn't changed.]
Freefall: Dammit, what level is this guy...?
Cruce: I don't know that either! But I'm getting a little tired of this!
Freefall: Tough. [With his sword still glowing, he slashes one with arm. Another shockwave rips through Cruce.]
Cruce: [Blasted back, he lays on his back with his arms out, a disgruntled look on his face. He stands.] ...(Well, he's annoying. But at least my life's still looking good.) [His HP bar has barely been touched. It is still at 99%.] (I need to get out of here, and I would log out, but... This is worth checking out at Getegauz.) [He watches as Freefall charges his sword again.] (Now how can I get this idiot off of my tail...?)
...
"(That's it!)"
...
Cruce: [He crosses his arms, bracing himself for another attack. The shockwave that passes through him does not manage to knock him over, but it does move him back. He looks up at Freefall.] (Ugh... God, I hope this works.) [He flairs his arms out to his sides.] Back up! [He focuses a particular magic upon himself... a magic out of place.]
Freefall: Finally decided to fight back...?
Cruce: [His body becomes a quick flash of light. He shrinks, becoming quadrupedal with spiky hair and long, winglike ears. He smirks at the other player in this form: his Chronic form.]
Freefall: [Drops weapon to waist level, aghast at Cruce's transformation.] 'The heck...?
Cruce: [Without saying a word, he takes flight, soaring over Freefall's head.] (Hahaha! I can't believe this actually worked! Hooooly crap, this means I have all of my powers from--)OOF! [A Pokéball hits him square in the back of the head, emitting a red beam and absorbing his entire body...]
...
[The Pokéball falls to the ground, twitching with Cruce inside.]
Freefall: [He approaches the Pokéball, his face still showing an expression of shock.] ...Th-that... was close...
Cruce: [Breaks free from the Pokéball, lurching into the air and glaring down at Freefall.] DUDE! THAT CAN HAPPEN?!
Freefall: [Leaps back, his katana wielded with both hands just underneath his chin.] What class are you?!
Cruce: YOU ALMOST CAUGHT ME!
Freefall: [His sword glows again.] I thought this'd be a battle, but now I have to go and catch a Shaymin for my Trainer.
Cruce: You do realize I'm a player, right?! You can't just catch me!
Freefall: I beg to differ. I almost did. Looks like I have to weaken you first. [Again, he lashes out, a shockwave of red leaving his sword and quickly closing in on Cruce, who drops his altitude abruptly. Within moments, Cruce is gone...
Cruce: [Flying away from the scene as fast as possible.] Good God... G-good God... (I... did not think about that... Oh my God, what if I really was caught?! Can anyone else say what being a -caught- Pokémon is like?!)
...
"Well, that's over now..."
...
"Off to the big city."
