Within Separate Minds

So alike
But so different
Identical pieces
That don't seem to fit
An illusion of the mind
Or the wake up call of the heart
Either way
It causes madness in both minds
Truth or lies,
Who is to judge,
The sanity has dissipated into nothing,
A desolate wasteland,
Forgotten in time,
Only seen by those who are lost,
Left to suffer in emotional purgatory,
Sitting,
Waiting,
Watching,
Hoping....
All seem beautiful,
Yet so childish,
To believe in such a petty thing called love.
Gazing at the sky from a windowless room,
A star flies by, unseen,
Caught by the shadow's frozen embrace
Held tight,
Never to be free..
Such a dark and painful thought.....
But to be with a true love....is all I want.
So alike
But so different
Two halves
Of a different object
Similar in ways
But never the same
