T'was the night before Christmas pt 3
A/N: I thought it best to break up the entire 6 page wall of text into separate entries, for convenience purposes. Also, a fun fact for those of you who like the little interesting tidbits tucked away in some of Gaia's items, I'd advise you to go and read the item description in the Grecian tops. ^_^ Noir's designer label is owned by Gaia, but the character of Noir nocturne is entirely my own. Thank you, and please enjoy the third installment of this little Christmas fic.

Nothing is impossible if you persevere. Even the most difficult of endeavors.

On that fated night, that invaluable lesson had been taught to Turkey, and held as constant reminder for her, every single day thereafter that fateful meeting.“Th-thank you for saving me!” To say that she was grateful was an understatement. She owed her life to the miracle she had called upon! Come to think of it, she still hadn't gotten his name. Turkey bowed her head to the victor of the the fight, who had eventually managed to burn the bodies of the gang members alive, before her very eyes. The stench of burned flesh drifted into Turkey's nostrils, and the girl fought the urge to vomit. What sort of impression would that make upon her saviour?! She had to choke back the stench...she had to properly introduce herself, and... and.....

While Turkey was trying to get herself composed and her words in order, the stranger issued a sigh and offered her a glance at long last. Her emerald eyes widened behind her prescription lenses and her heart once more caught in her throat. That stare sent shivers of excitement and fear coursing up her spine. The man had finally stepped out of the shadows, and looked to be far cuter than she had originally assumed! Did miracles deliver gods from the heavens, themselves?! He appeared young, quite possibly in his early twenties, Turkey convinced herself, as she took in his height.

The beautiful man clad in crimson and black attire and a trailing fur boa towered over her on leather encased legs that seemed to stretch forever. Her gaze lifted slowly, taking in in the tasty dish whose taut tummy was exposed, thanks to the Black Web Bustier he wore. It was the middle of winter...wasn't he cold? A thoughtful look settled on her face while a soft sound of contemplation slipped unguarded from her. He was a fire elemental, so maybe the cold didn't really bother him? He also had that stylish, twin-tailed boa around his shoulders to assist in keeping him warm. Or was it just for show? Turkey shook her head, driving the thoughts from her mind. Now wasn't the time to ponder about such things!

“Um, I....I, uh-” She had to get the words out! “My name is T-Turkey, and....” Her voice fell in disappointment once the man strode past her, ignoring her completely. Why? Hadn't he just saved her? He had to notice her before, to come to her aid, didn't he? Some part of Turkey wondered if he was truly the miracle she had asked for, or if he had just been in the right place at the right time. “Wait! P-please...don't go.” she urged, desperate to get his attention. She couldn't let him slip away, when she had yet to return the favor, somehow. Perhaps he could assist her, once more, and help her get back home. She'd be in further debt to him, of course, but it was a price she didn't mind paying.

Ah! The stranger had stopped just a few feet from her! Had her pleas gotten through to him? Turkey couldn't help the smile that spread out across her lips. The raven-haired elf slowly, shakily found her way to her feet; a hand grasping the wall for support. A single step was taken toward the handsome stranger, who turned his head to the side; long raven and copper strands fluttering with the sudden movement. And then...she heard him speak! “It's been a while. How's your family?”

Turkey froze in her tracks. “Huh?” The confused elf blinked once. Was he addressing her? No, it couldn't be. She didn't even know him! How on earth would he know her family?! Her mouth hung agape as her mind spun. If not her, then who was he talking to?! Oh, he had such a smooth, deep, beautiful voice. No- wait, she shouldn't be focused on that!

Amidst her panic and stupor, where was some slight movement on the ground that caught her eye. Peering closer, she followed the man's gaze to the moving object that sauntered out from behind a cardboard box. It was a cat. Turkey discovered. Nothing more than a shabby grey kitty cat....

Her heart sunk into her stomach and her mouth fell open again. It had taken a lot of courage to come out and try to talk to him, and he ignored her to talk to a cat?! Heck, he had barely given her a glance! This just couldn't be! Her dream was on a one way track of turning into a nightmare. The miracle she had prayed for was clearly missing his marbles!

“-key. Earth to Turkey...” The elf shut her eyes tightly and suppressed a shiver when something ice cold connected with her forehead, a twinge of pain left behind the tingling sensation. Emerald optics opened slowly, cautiously, and Turkey let loose a cry of surprise when the face of the friendly, winter trickster, Jack Frost came into view. His face was just inches from hers, the man smiling mischievously while he invaded her personal space. “About time...I've been trying to get your attention for some time now. Daydreaming again, are we?” Jack observed with a sigh as he sat upon the railing of the balcony; one leg crossed over the other.

“Oh...s-sorry, sugar cookie.” The young elven woman offered her apologies quickly set her mug aside to reach for the gift that she had wrapped, resting beside her and teetering dangerously atop the railing. “Thanks for coming on such short notice. Do you think you can deliver this to a special little sugar cube for me?” Jack Frost was a man who only a select few of the elves hung out with and relied upon; close enough to be within hie inner circle, and know that the man had certain connections outside of the North Pole. Turkey had continuously agonized over the fact that to this day, she still didn't know the name of the man who had rescued her, on that day, exactly one year ago. But, she was certain that Jack Frost, of all people, could lend his aid.

The perfectly wrapped parcel was turned over slowly in Jack's frostbitten hands; a frown coming quickly to the annoyed artist's lips. “There's no name of the recipient. Shouldn't this delivery be one better suited for the jolly ol' jingler to take on, if you don't know who you're even trying to sent it to?” he questioned, coolly, carefully gauging Turkey's reaction to his words.

The embarrassed elf shook her head quickly, her cheeks burning red. There was no way that she could confront Santa with such a selfish request! The man's sleigh had already been packed up with presents, and she was almost certain that he had taken off already, to deliver them across the world. Besides...she reasoned...there was no doubt that the unnamed man she had developed a dangerous crush on had developed a permanent place on Santa's naughty list. Sure, he had saved her, but he had also burned her attackers alive, and didn't appear to show a single sign of remorse.

Jack couldn't help but chuckle. So, it seemed that there were secrets that the elves kept from Santa. It shouldn't have come as much of a surprise; since everyone had their secrets; even elves were of no exception. “So....” the gift was tossed to his left hand and placed once more on the railing, right beside his thigh. “You're going to have to tell be a little about this mystery recipient, if you want me to deliver your little gift.” he urged, not only out of convenience, but because he was personally interested in whoever could make such a small elf blush enough for three full grown people.

“Well...” Turkey bit back a dreamy little sigh. What could she say about the man that wouldn't make her sound like a silly little stalker with a schoolgirl crush? The first thing she recalled was his height; the man was nearly all legs, but she supposed that from an elf's point of view, almost everyone would be considered to be the same way. “He's furry...” she began, remembering the soft black furs that were around the stranger's shoulders.

“Furry?” Jack Frost parroted, arching an eyebrow. Just what sort of guy had Turkey fallen for? The first mental image that showed its presence at the forefront of his mind was some sort of wolfman. Perhaps a Yeti, since they weren't uncommon within the norther region, but then again, they were more hairy than they were furry. Slender blue digits scratched at his scalp as his imagination began to get the better of him. Hold on, perhaps he should've let her finish trying to explain this stranger she was trying to gift.

The short-statured woman nervously fiddled with the fringe on her snowy white scarf. The reaction she had drawn from her friend, Jack, didn't seem like it was a good one. What was the man thinking of her, right now? Surely, she had to seem weird! It had to be weird, to call a man she had never gotten the name of, furry. There was just no way that it could be viewed as normal! “When I met him, he was wearing this beautiful black fur boa.” She tried to reshape her previous explanation, molding it like wet clay to her advantage. “It sat high around the top of his head, and flowed down his shoulders and back-” she paused, eyes widening. “Almost like a cape, I suppose...and it ended around his feet in two twin-tails.” Her hands moved through the air to try to draw out the image she described, which only drew a blank stare from Jack, much to her dismay.

On second thought, perhaps air artistry wasn't the way to go. A gloved hand slipped into her pocket to fish out a small sketch pad that she carried with her at all times, in case she needed to sketch out an idea for a toy before it could quickly escape her memory. A pencil was plucked from behind her pointed ear in an instant, and touched to the tiny pad of paper. Lightning fast flicks of her fingers left sharp lines over the blank canvas; each line connecting with another, and forming the detailed picture that Turkey had in her head. “Here!” she exclaimed, excitedly, practically thrusting the art that she had breathed life into, in Jack's face. She was actually quite proud of herself, for capturing so much detail in the short amount of time she had been in the stranger's company.

It only took a few seconds for the ice artist to scrutinize Turkey's sketch. It couldn't be... “This guy, huh? Yeah, I know him...” he finally confirmed with a slow nod and a stroke of his chin. The man was famous enough, so who, in fact, didn't know of him? Jack had to wonder, though, just how many knew of the man's private life...aside from himself. “Maybe you should take a look at this.” he advised the ecstatic elf. A magazine was pulled from within his vest so that he could show off the artist on the front cover; the very man who Turkey had drawn.

“-seen here, sporting the latest clothing from the Illumnati collection, of his popular designer label, noir. The innovative and expensive products are but some ones that are sold within the high end shop, La Victorie. The owners of the luxurious establishment are but one of the businesses that market all of noir's products worldwide, many of which are sold for exorbitant amounts of cash, thanks to their close connections with the man behind the inspirational outfits; Noir Nocturne.”

Turkey read straight from the article on the very first page, and couldn't believe her ears, even as she spoke the words aloud! She had encountered a famous fashion designer! She had developed a crush on a famous fashion designer! What were the odds?! So, his name was Noir, and his own designer labels had been named after him...it definitely seemed to suit him. Hopefully, her gift would do the same...
