The Awakening~

"Don't go..."
...
...
...
"Now I beg of you... please..."
...
...
...
[Thursday morning...]
...
Cruce: [Laying on his back, having burrowed underneath the covers.] ... [His door has been left slightly open. The sun reaches into his room...] ...
...
Cruce: [Dreaming... It is beginning to fade away.] (What's happening...? Who are they?)
...
"...Family..."
...
[This is the one word spoken in a demonic voice before Cruce is suddenly awake and sitting up, having flung the covers off in his rush to awaken.]
Cruce: Ahh! [Breathing quickly.] ... ...Oh... Sure... 'Guess it's just gonna keep happening... [He rubs his face before looking at his digital clock messily placed on the bed near his pillow. It reads 9:39 AM. School has already started, and no one was there any longer to drop him off.] ...Right... Ugh... [He falls back, laying down and staring at the ceiling.]
...
Cruce: ...God... [Closes his eyes and sighs.] ...Y-yeah... God...? [Opens his eyes.] ...You're more than likely busy with all of those other prayers... but... May I ask that you consider mine? I want to know what's happening... What are these voices? I really need to know... It'll drive me crazier than I already am. Do spirits want to reach out to me? Do they think I'm like you...? That I judge them? If I have a gift like that, I shouldn't... I don't deserve it. I'm not some hero, or some savior... I'm just a kid... Please, God... whatever problem I have, I don't want it to involve lost souls...
...
Amen...
...
"Please..."
...
Cruce: [He sits up again.] Okay, now I know I'm alone at home... so I'm 100% sure... that was the same one who called me in that field.
...
"Please... save me... p-please..."
...
Cruce: You have me again. What is it you want from me...? Are you a lost soul...?
...
"I'm lost... but n-no. I'm not a lost soul... Say... I have heard your voice before... Cruce Maximilius, is that you again...?"
...
Cruce: It is! It's still me... Are you convinced yet...? You've come to me way more than once.
...
"I have...? This is one of the only times I've been able to get to speak with you... I wish I could meet you in person, but I don't think it's possible..."
...
Cruce: Why don't you think so? Are you a spirit...?
...
"No, I'm fully alive, but... not too well. My life is at risk for the very first time... I know this sounds ludicrous, but it can't be. I can't die. I have to stay alive... for the sake of my world..."
...
Cruce: So that's why we can't meet... you're on another world... That is pretty crazy, but... What world is it?
...
"It's... [The voice begins to fade away.] -nic... And i--... not doing so we--... I ca--... -ch longer... We may... be able to --et after all."
...
Cruce: H-hey! Don't leave! C'mon... What did you say? We may be able to meet after all?
...
"...--ot certain... it's almost like time and s--...--f order... I feel like that Connection is--[Nothingness. The silence hits Cruce abruptly.]
...
Cruce: ...Again... [He rubs his face with both hands again, instead keeping them there this time... The silence remains. It is disturbing.]
...
Cruce: [He drops his hands into his lap, opening his eyes slowly.] What a great way to start the day... 'Could make it better... [He turns to his V gear.] Hmm... (I hope it doesn't wig out on me again... I don't think it will. That was just a freak thing.) ... [Eager to check the system, he hops out of bed, immediately grabbing the helmet and putting it over his head. He doesn't turn the main system on. Instead, he simply checks the status of the servers. They appear to be running well... He takes the helmet off, staring at the wallscreen.] Alright... (That's good to know.)
...
[Cruce tosses the helmet onto the bed before heading to the restroom to handle those morning affairs. As he washes his hands, he looks into the mirror. His appearance seems brighter... at the same time, the mirror begins to ripple like a pool of water.]
Cruce: [Shakes his head quickly, again looking into the mirror. The ripples continue. He turns to see that the ripples occur on the cabinet mirror as well, and even on the smaller portable mirror on the counter.] ... What the hell...? [As soon as he finishes speaking, the ripples cease. At the same time, Cruce runs from the bathroom and back to his room, closing the door immediately.] I don't have to deal with this again... [Shaking his head, he rubs his temples and approaches his bed. Cruce places the helmet he had put there over his head and faces the wallscreen.] Log in time.
...
...
...
[The moment Cruce logs into V...]
...
[The whole world goes to hell.]
...
...
...
[The sun blacks out. All of the stars lose their light. Light no longer exists. The realm freezes...]
...
[Electricity dies out, though this is just seen as blackness. Nothing is heard. Nothing is seen. Nothing is felt. Nothing is thought.]
...
...
...
...
...
...
[Cruce, having logged in at Al's, remains logged into the virtual world on his account He is unaware of what had just happened to his world, however. The blackness lets up. All is restored, yet in a different manner. Snow is falling across the globe. It seems as if ruin and destruction has spread across the planet, considering sensation itself had come to a halt in mid-action. Many lives have been lost, and most of those who have survived have been knocked unconscious in the stream of Darkness.]
...
...
...
[V has been terminated. Cruce wriggles out of his helmet. All of the sensations of this world feel completely real. His physically altered body feels too accurate to be a program, however the circumstance and sensation of logging in remains a truth in his mind.]
...
...
...
"What happened?"
...
"Am I logged in now?"
...
"You've got to be kidding me... Is this a glitch?!"
...
"Where is... the world I know...?"
...
