* The Republicans just voted to deny people their unemployment insurance benefits. They still want that huge tax cut for the super rich, though.

* Luger and Collins say they will vote for DADT repeal. That means their are enough votes if they put it up in the lame duck session.

* Over in the UK, looks like they are essentially dismantling Legal Aid to the point of the system not being functional any more. Charming.

* It's official: the GM bailout worked. 1.4 million jobs were saved and they are on track for paying the bail out back. There stock offering today drove the market up. Of course, the republicans are still attacking it. After all, ideology is way more important than genuine human suffering.
