Maita

Once upon a time, there was a lowly Indian girl named Maita. Maita was of the Wombear tribe that lived in a secret cave in the country of Wombearia. She was an ordinary Indian woman who picked berries and cared for her pet wombears eat day. At night, she would dance around the great fire with her tribe-mates, giving thanks for their plentiful food source in the forest around the cavern. One day, Maita left the cave to search for berries and roots to eat. As she carefully picked her way down the jagged rocks leading down from the cave, Maita noticed that the nearby waterfall had seized its flow. The tribe had always used the fresh water from the waterfall for drinking. Maita frowned, utterly confused. Unable to find out what was wrong with the waterfall from simply looking at it, she started the long climb up the rock wall to see if the source of the water had somehow been blocked. Slowly but surely, Maita scaled the rocks until she reached the tip top of the massive wall. She squinted her eyes to look further down the river and nearly toppled over when she spotted a clumo of wombeareavers chillin' like villians on top of a large dam. Maita cursed, frowning once more. Wombeareavers were some of the most dangerous creatures in the area. Not only could they could chew through just about anything with their immense buck teeth, but they could also secrete a deadly poison from their tongue. One bite by a wombeareaver and she would be rendered helpless. Maita sat down upon a nearby log. What she needed most was a plan to get the wombeareavers off the dam. Then she would be able to push the dam over and allow the water to flow again. Maita suddenly smirked, seeing that the plan was only too obvious. Wombeareavers were deathly afraid of tiganthions. She need only roar like a tiganthion, and they would scurry away to save their own lives. Determined, Maita jumped up onto her feet, cupped her hands around her mouth, and roared like she had never roared before. The sound echoed through the wilderness. Maita watched warily as the wombeareavers perked their ears for a fraction of a second before taking off into the bushes. Satisfied, she ran at the dam like a star football player and toppled the whole structure over. Water came rushing out from behind the dam and washed Maita downstream and over the waterfall. After crashing down into the pool by the cave, Maita pulled herself out if the water, climbed back up to the cave, and settled in for a long night.
