Glimpse of a Memory
"Tick...tock...tick...tock...tick...tock..."
"Would you stop?The clock's doing a good enough job without you joining along.And we only need one."
"I'm just amusing myself.Besides, I think it's too quiet here.", Riku whispered, trying to keep his voice low though it was hard, seeing that he was in Ansem's form, "It needs a bit of noise."
Rixa cracked her knuckles and looked at the ceiling.It had been days since either of them had left the mansion to complete some sort of errand from DiZ.But ever since Rixa and DiZ talked about the worlds, he had been locked inside his lab, focused completely on his work without any wish to be disturbed.She considered him to be an odd man for being so bent on lab work.What kind of live had he had before all this?Could he have been the same person he was now or was he different?He would always be an enigma to her.Naminé had been quiet too, being involved in some of work.She had tried to go into her room to talk, but Naminé shooed her away everytime.
"I'm sorry, Rixa, but I need to be alone.You can spend time with Riku instead.I know how close you two are...", she said.
Was it that obvious that something was going on between them?She couldn't bear the thought of anyone knowing.Axel momentarily popped into her head, saying what he would if he were there.
"Sounds like Lil Sis found someone else to spar with.How cute!"
"Axel, I miss you..."
"Hey, hey, it's okay.Why don't we go for a walk, so you can clear your head?", Riku said, putting his hands on her shoulders, "It should make you feel better."
She agreed and they both headed out into the woods.Going around the trees in a circling motion without straying off the path, they held hands.Rixa smiled at Riku whenever he looked at her, just like he smiled at her.He suddenly grabbed her by her sides and lifted her up to spin her around.She laughed with him as he kept spinning her.Their laughter echoed in the forest, being the only sound around them.Rixa looked at Riku straight into his eyes and saw something.She didn't recognize it inmediately, but it looked familiar to her.Riku changed into another person and the area surrounding them changed into a filed of flowers.Rixa observed her surroundings and put her hands to her chest.The figure in front of her patted her head, rubbing her hair.
"It's getting late, m'lady.We should be heading back."
"M-M'lady?Just who are you and where's Riku???"
"Come now.Your father would be upset if you stayed out too late and you've been in enough trouble already."
"It is getting late, but...who are you?
"Hey, Rixa!Who are you talking to?You spaced out for a minute.", Riku said, looking worried.
"I just saw a man, and we were standing in a filed of flowers...He called me M'lady and said that it was getting late...that we had to go back or Father would be upset..."
"Rixa, could it be a memory?You must have remembred something!", he screamed, pulling her close to him, "I'm so happy..."
"B-but I don't even know who the guy is!Or who father is either!"
"Rixa, he must have been talking about your dad, your family.Something must have triggered that memory, maybe just walking in the forest."
"Then, there is hope that I might remember who I am and wehre I'm from!Riku, come on!We have things to do, triggers to find!"
"Now, hold your horses!Rixa!!!"
Before he could stop her, she had run off in the direction of the town.He sighed, but was glad that she had remembered something, even if it was small.He chased after her and wondered what else there could be to her past.
