Alright, I took my brother with me to Burger King at around noon to hang out with some friends. It was my brother, Gil, Morgan, Meagan, Sheldon, Zach, Emily, Cameron, and me. After a few hours we went to Homestead Park to hang out and cause we were annoying the BK people. Emily and Cameron were playing around with a lighter and a can of hairspray and Cameron had already gotten his hand burnt by Emily.
So, Emily snuck up behind Gil trying to scare him with the flame and she burned his neck, face, and hair. She tried to look, but Gil didn't want her near him so I told her to back the hell off and told the others to go get water or ice for the burns. Gil was crying and screaming and it took alot of time to get him to calm down, but even then he was still shaking really badly. In the meanwhile, Emily had taken off for home and her boyfriend, Cameron, left soon after when she came back to get him. This left just me and Gil alone in the park waiting for the others for a good 20 minutes.
The others came back with some water and we used Sheldon's jacket as a washcloth to dab at the injury and used a brush to get out most of his burned hair. Awhile later we got home and Gil got in the shower. I explained to my dad what had happened and he flipped out initially, but remained calm the rest of the night. He told my mother and she freaked out. She was majorly pissed.
We ended up taking Gil to the hospital and filed a report with the police. It took the police at least half an hour to come to us and over an hour for the doctors to treat Gil's wounds. The doctor said he was lucky that he didn't inhale any of the chemicals or damage one of his eyes. The burns ended up being superficial and they'll heal up given time. This morning I saw his injuries and they had turned purple and flaky.
This is what really flips my s**t:
Emily came over after we got back from the hospital and tried to apologize for running off and she asked me to forgive her for hurting him. I told her that honestly, I really didn't want to see her face right now, much less forgive her. "Give it some time...alot of time." I remember saying.
Now, is it wrong not to forgive her right off the bat? Quite honestly I wanted to kill her the second it happened, but I was too worried about Gil. I know it was an accident, but it's common sense that 1) you don't make a flamethrower out of such dangerous things since the whole thing could easily explode, 2) you don't aim it at people much less their head when their back is turned, and 3) you don't run away when someone IS ON FIRE!
I just...cannot begin to describe how utterly pissed I am. I was scared for my brother's safety and angry at Emily and due to my condition, I fainted. You aren't supposed to stress out someone with a weak heart! Then when I got home, I just broke down and cried.
Thank you to everyone who was concerned and helped Gil while he was injured and me while I was in hysterics. Thank you to everyone who said they'd pray for our safety. Just plain THANK YOU GOD
