WTF? When I started learning, I was just knitting stuff straight from their patterns. Well... I'm a fatty-chan, so I realized I was going to need to start altering some patterns. Last night I got to work on it, using the cabled 'Thigh-High Leg Warmers' pattern from Knit.1 issue of Fall 2006. . . . crying Why wasn't I warned what a pain in the arse this would be!? Oh crap, I'm glad I didn't keep in touch w/any of my teachers from my school days. They'd totally be throwing it in my face now, 'Well I told you that Math is the universal language, that you'd best remember it and practice it!' I was so stumped, and ended up having to bother my Math-geek roommate to get him to help me with it. He helped me, but not without giving me the same lecture my teachers used to give. ARGH!
On the bright side though, I did two changes to the pattern. Made what I would classify as a med/large, and a large/1X alterations. Woohoo! I need to see a way to post how to insert these changes without my actually posting the pattern, as it is a pattern belonging to Vogue. I'd like to avoid being sued.
