So the ol' gears in my head started turning, and now I've thought up a post for an RP that will probably be a long ways off, if I ever get the chance to post it, that is... Either way, gonna put it here so I don't forget when the time comes. :3
For the purposes of this entry, I won't be using any other names, namely because I've got no way of knowing just who it would be. XD
-------------------
Isn't it funny how nothing ever seems to go quite as planned? How the moment one changes their routine things start to go south quickly?
For the first time in what seemed like... well, ever for him, Rion had actually spent some time outside of his dorm, hanging out with one of the few people he could actually say he considered a friend at Shiengxiao Academy, ((Accompanying character)). He decided to go and see the fireworks that marked the night of the meteor shower, August 16th, and had happened to see his friend there as well... so he had decided if he was going to break his typical routine of staying in his dorm, he might as well just break it all the way and actually hang out with people, and to be honest, it was pretty fun... well, it was until they were heading back to Shiengxiao's campus...
He wasn't really sure what had put them in this position, but they had been either tailed by a group of thugs, or they had simply walked into some sort of random ambush... Either way, now there were at least six thugs surrounding Rion and his friend, and they were coming close with simple weapons such as pipes and bricks, probably for the purpose of intimidation, because anyone in the Academy worth being there would have no problem against something like a pipe. Personally, Rion didn't have any money on him, or at least not very much since he wasn't planning on buying anything this evening, and he doubted even if his friend did that they would be giving it up to scum like these guys... of course, this left Rion with a dilemma of his own... would he do as he normally did, and let the likely blows rain on him, only to heal up later... or would he break routine once and for all, by revealing that beneath the stoic exterior of Rion Galford was a warrior whose power could very well rival some of the strongest at Shiengxiao Academy?
For now, Rion didn't get a chance to decide, for without saying anything one of the thugs hit him in the right side of his back with such a force that it dislocated his right shoulder, before another one hit him in the back of the leg to bring him to a knee. Sure, it hurt right now, but it wasn't anything Rion hadn't healed naturally before... and he had a feeling if nothing else, his roommate knew that his body had a way of healing itself that allowed him to take some pretty nasty beatings without so much as a trip to the infirmary. However, the thug moved back rather quickly when Rion's friend moved in close for an attack, a sign that maybe these 'simple thugs' were more than your run-of-the-mill goons... Perhaps these were members of this 'army' that Rion had heard rumors of, an army that was rumored to be led by the Rat Clan...
As Rion's friend moved to help him up, Rion used the arm that wasn't currently dislocated to wave them off, looking up at them with a smile, a rather odd occurrence given the circumstances. "... You know... ((Character Name)) was right. Maybe it is time I stopped shying away from everything this school has to offer..." He said, referring to something that someone he knew had told him, obviously an attempt to figure out just why he kept to himself... but that person was right. If today was any indication, then there was so much that Rion had already missed, just because he didn't want to deal with the politics and the needless fighting that was rampant in the school... but that was going to end tonight. "... Don't worry about me..." He said, as he pulled himself back up to his feet, grabbing his right shoulder and with a loud pop, pushing it back into place. He then turned around, facing the thug that had struck him, a look of renewed purpose in his eyes.
"... Well? Don't tell me that's it..." He said, as he moved into a stance that was different than his usual Muay Thai fighting stance. In fact... it looked different than any of the fighting stances Rion typically used, this one appeared to be closer to the Chinese art of Bajiquan than anything else. He frowned slightly, knowing that he would have rather had his martial arts gloves on for this, but it didn't matter now.
Dropping the pipe, the one that had dislocated his shoulder moved in first, coming at Rion with a straight punch, likely thinking that Rion was simply bluffing... After all, he hadn't ever been really aggressive in any of the fights he had been forced into at Shiengxiao, how could he do so now? They would soon find that this was indeed no bluff as when the punch came, Rion moved slightly to the left, before using a defensive technique in which he pushed his right arm sideways, then at the same time moved his left hand over his right arm to push the punch to the side of his face, before with a quick movement of his right arm, pushed inward in a typical Bajiquan punch... but unlike a normal punch, this one not only had great force due to being a quick, forceful push similar to a one-inch punch, but Rion was able to condense the entire force of the punch to an extent that the simple punch sent the thug flying backwards, wheezing as he hit the ground due to the force of the punch breaking at least one rib and collapsing a lung.
"... That's just a warning... this is your last chance, guys... We can all go home without any problems... or I can show you just why I don't fight..." He said, looking around at the remaining thugs who were a little surprised to see their comrade taken down so quickly. He watched as the thugs directly in front began moving closer, with the one closest running towards him at full speed. It seemed that these thugs weren't willing to listen to reason...
Another punch came toward Rion, but once more it was stopped as he pushed the punch away using his left arm, then quickly countering with a quick elbow into the side of the thug, moving his leg forward and putting it behind the leg of his attacker, which caused the thug to lose his balance and stumble. As Rion finished the counter with a palm strike to the opponent's chest, causing the thug to stumble backward before falling over, the other two thugs would notice that the clothing had been burned where their ally was just hit... and the source of the burn became apparent as what appeared to be black flames flickered in Rion's right hand.
"This is only the beginning..." He said, a black and white glow slowly emanating from his body as he calmly walked past the thug on the ground, who was now rolling sideways and clutching his burned chest. Rion then made his way toward the pair of thugs closest to him, ducking down as a brick was thrown at his head, but as he got up he realized that the one who had thrown it had closed the distance and tried to kick him in the head, but would soon find themselves leaving the ground as Rion pulled back, turning his body and sending a hard kick upward, catching the thug in the chin before not only returning to a standing position, but jumping up into the air as the thug started to fall, where he was sent downward by another kick to the face, bouncing off of the ground where he was stopped by his partner grabbing hold of him. As they looked up, however, they would see Rion coming down toward them, with one foot outstretched in a flying kick, having used the first kick as a means to jump just a bit higher, before heading toward the two thugs, while they probably wouldn't have been scared of just a typical flying kick, something about seeing Rion's entire body become engulfed in a formation of black flames that resembled a rather massive bird as it dove toward them compelled them to try and run away... that is, until that flaming bird made contact with the ground, causing an explosion of black flames that drove them into the ground headfirst, with Rion standing over their unconscious forms as some of the black flames lingered on the ground for a few seconds before dying out...
And then there were two... Well, for about a second before the last two thugs ran faster than their legs could carry them, stumbling over each other as they fled the scene. A small laugh escaped Rion's mouth as the two left, before shaking his head and looking to the sky, just in time to see the beginning of the meteor shower. He closed his eyes for a moment, recalling a story his grandfather told him when he was a child... how many years ago there was a martial artist that was known as the Black Phoenix, and how this fighter had been known as one of Japan's strongest in that time period, before he suddenly disappeared, and was never heard from again. He remembered the night he was told this tale, and the first question he had asked when the story was over.
"Ojii-san... did the Black Phoenix die...?"
"Hahaha... this tale was told to me by my own grandfather, Rion-kun... he would be very, very old if he were alive today..." Rion's grandfather told him, smiling as he placed his hand on his grandson's head, ruffling his hair a bit. "But, I'll let you in on a secret... legend has it that..."
As Rion's thoughts drifted back to the present, he continued looking at the sky, speaking aloud the secret his grandfather told him.
"On the night when the stars themselves fall from the heavens... among the ashes of disorder..." He began, before looking toward ((Character name)), his normally grayish blue eyes now giving off a silver hue as he looked toward his friend.
"... The Black Phoenix shall rise again..."

Ahh... well, that's that. Happy reading!
