~Background~
Suihou is a boy who was orphaned by war. So at least so he's told. It seems to be the most commonly accepted answer in a poor country that is often caught in the middle of terrible wars. When Suihou was a young boy he was taken in by a small orphanage in the country-side of Amegakure. It was run by someone the children only knew as Mother. She was a very skilled farmer able to actually grow rice in a land where it always rained. He learned everything from her. He learned to cook, farm, repair and build shacks and such. It was in this orphanage he lived until he was old enough to sign up for the ninja academy.

His days in the academy were tough. During the day he studied and when he got home in the darkest of night he had chores. He rarely slept. His life on a farm was tough, but it had physically prepared him for the life of a ninja, it was primarily ninjutsu and genjutsu that he struggled with, as far as taijutsu went he may have been the strongest in his class. He kept at it and eventually his ninjutsu skill caught up and even surpassed his taijutsu.

When he turned thirteen he was just days away from his graduation exam. Unfortunately this was also the day one of the youngest children at the orphanage passed from from an illness he got while trying to train like Suihou out in the pouring rain. This is something that affected him greatly affecting his graduation scores. He barely managed to pass the graduation exams due to a lack of focus and sleep. Although he did indeed pass and now awaits his team to be assigned to him.
