Soooo, after realizing something last night....I decided to go on this major release of my opinion about people and love. This may not hold true for me in a week, but as of right now, this is all I got, so enjoy:
I have no faith in the human race anymore. It's all about sex, money, power, greed, position, looks. What has become of our hearts? Where's the romance, the love, the caring, the humanity behind our actions. What happened to living for a reason? Living for someone else? Humans...what good is our lot? Why does our race exist? All we are about is greed, destruction, pain, lust, gain. Our everyday lives leave no room for empathy. We all work so hard for no reason. Everything we gain ends...yet we still take a knife to a comrade or acquaintance if it benefits our purpose. How can a person possibly have faith in love...in another person...in this everyday life. An intricate web of lies we weave every second of the day. A false facade...just so we can get what we want...that upperhand in the world. Yet...does this not lower us to the level of barbaricism? Have we sunk so low in the past that we have forgotten what true love...true happiness...true empathy is? Our modern day society has forgotten what it's like to experience emotions. There is no more wooing or real emotional attraction anymore. It's all about sex and "proving" yourself. Relationships are nothing more than games to most people, to maybe, prove their status in life by reflecting what kind of "trophy" person they have. In fact, peer pressure plays a major, yet delusional, part in the "mating" game of life. The hotter our "boyfriend/girlfriend" is, the more our "friends" and peers congratulate you, boosting the person's ego and status.
To summarize...love no longer exists. It has become a cruel and painful joke. "Love" is given form through our Hollywood movies and crude love novels. The passion...the love...the calling...it doesn't exist anymore in the real world. Love has become one of the biggest fallacies in human history. I wish I could believe in love again...but when I look at the world...when I see what goes on in it...when I hear the conversations that people have...it's painful. It's become a social game. People are cold beings. There are very few good people left in the world. Those who truly do believe that love exists...that they can trust other people...that there are such things as pure intentions. These people tend to get screwed over in the end. The ones that love and feel...they feel coldness and despair. Perhaps that's the hardest lesson to learn in life...that there is no such thing as pure intentions...as a true love, a perfect soulmate.
There's my lovely rant about people in general and love. Now you should read Dani's views on guys. ^^, it's quite a tear jerk-er.
