November 1, 1813
My name is Catharine Angeline Darkwind. My mother has suggested that I write a diary so that I have something to keep my thoughts and dreams in. Last night I saw the same man, his black hair and red eyes shone brightly in my mind. He was holding his hand out to me and when I started to reach for it my mother pulled me away screaming ‘what a monster, you’re no son of mine.’ This confused me, she always told me that I was an only child and that she could never have any more children after I was born. The man called me his twin sister and that his name was Daniel Jonathan Darkwind. Something was different, besides his glowing blood red eyes, that something was the fact that he was cold. Everything about him said that he was cold.
I see it now, my mother dying by his hands. I am not afraid of him killing her but rather being alone after her death. This was inevitable, her death. It was going to happen sometime in the future but it looked like it was going to happen sooner than I had originally anticipated. This comes as no surprise to me anymore. My father had left her for some unknown reason but until recently I did not know. He had left me behind with her because I was human; both in appearance and power. My future sight comes from my witch mother.
Brother, when will you come, I need you to come and save me.
