The faces of a Tyrant
A Meeting of Fate
There is no way for a man to know the time of his death, all we can do is try our hardest and wait for the end. Or that is what we are taught to believe, in fact that is how this story ends... or to be more precise, how it begins... The Minstrel.

The wind was hot and dry on the faces of the two men. They sat upon their horses in the center of a large plain. Nothing grew here, nothing lived here. There would be no witness to deliver the outcome of what was about to happen, that was how they wanted it. The only messenger was the man who returned alive.
Both wore armor one blue the other red. The red armor was fashioned into the representation of a dragon, the other a phoenix. Strapped to their waists were long swords and a spear rested calmly in there grip. The dragons spear was long and curved, Ideal for slashing and close combat. The Phoenix's spear witch sat in the crook of his arm was thin and sharp, pointing as straight as an arrow.
The horses stirred anxiously as the tension grew, the only sound was that of the wind, and the slow steady breaths of the two men as they faced off sizing one another for the battle to come. There would be no running, no help was on its way, this would be the end for one if not both warriors.
Movement... a single drop of rain falling from the sky. The two warriors watch it as it drops toward the ground. The horses are spurred to motion almost simultaneously and the cries of the warriors ring throughout the heavens as they charge one another. As the Rain drop hits, a loud clang resounded and their blades met, the fight had begun...

The two warriors squared off as the horses met with the Dragon slashing for the head of his opponent. However the phoenix leaned back in his saddle causing the blade to pass harmlessly above him. Their horses passed one another and turned on command... Still neither said a word. The horses ran forward once again and this time the Phoenix took a stab at the Dragon with his spear. In a blur of motion the dragon knocked the spear tip away before slamming the but of his spear into His chest. As the phoenix fell he let go of his spear landing with a thud on the ground below. The rain began to fall at a steadier pace now and he rolled quickly to get back to his feet. Meanwhile the Dragon Dismounted his horse lowering the spear to face the phoenix in the dying light.
