My heart was like a flooded river,
A river with no sun,
Only sadness, self hatred.
You came into my life,
You were the sun in my life,
But now, my sun is gone,
Though now, my heart is empty.
Barren, no emotions, no more tears to cry,
A shell of what once was,
Memories floating on evaporated clouds.
Who is to blame? Did we just grow apart?
I wish we grew apart, would not hurt so,
I am to blame, I distanced myself from you.
I didn't know things would go wrong between us,
But, maybe I should have known.
I was selfish, to stay away from you so long,
If I could turn the hands of time back,
Would things be like nothing sad had ever happened?
I know time cannot be re-written, but, can we still be friends,
Like we were before everything came into play?
:: I know the poem sucks, my mood is terrible today as has been for awhile.::
