This I find is the easiest way to let y'all know what happened today. Also it is the best way for me to get things off my chest.
Today, August 18th is my 22nd birthday, as most of you know. This morning at about 10AM my brother found our dog, Diamond dead in our backyard. We know that she has been sick for a long time, we just were never able to afford the vet. We believe that she passed during the evening of August 17th. It was a sad day in our family, but we all believe that she is happier now. We know that she was in pain and growing old. We were fortunate to have her with us for the past 10 years. All I ask is that you keep her in your prayers. We've taken her to be cremated;however, we will not retrieve the ashes. We intend to create a small memorial for her regardless.
Diamond was a good dog. She had her problems, but that is common for our family. Everyone of us has our quirks. Diamond was smart, even though she used her intelligence against us many a time. She is in a better place now and no longer in pain. She is with the puppies that she lost and has made many friends by now, I'm sure. Regardless of this understanding, everyone in our family will miss her dearly. Diamond took with her a piece of each of our hearts and nothing will ever replace her.
