"She won't answer. She hates me." I pointed out
James had dialed Hannah's cell phone number and was waiting for her to pick up.
"I feel this is important young Bob, we need to know everything we can in this situation." Tom explained
"No, we NEED to locate some scholar who can tell us where to find the donut people, then go to the donut people, some how ally ourselves with them and then oh yeah, fight off this darkness somehow." I rolled my eyes
"In between that we need to protect Anna, and everyone else involved, locate the missing people of the Muffin Makers Village, and learn as much defensive magic as we can." Fin added
"Donut people? I've heard legends, but I would have no idea where to find them..." sighed Tom
"Well good, I didn't want you to be the one who knew any way." I muttered
"I think what we also need is a sort of homebase, a place to plan and be safe where the darkness cannot reach." Said Grape Soda
"Ah yes, Miss Hannah? Hello, my name is James...not I'm not trying to sell something...no...you see I'm a friend of Bob...yes the muffin man...no...yes...please just allow me to explain...no, not that In know of...yes...one moment..." James held out the phone to me, "She wants to speak with you."
I sighed as I took the phone, "Hello Hannah."
"Where is Anna if she isn't with you?" She demanded
"She's somewhere safe I assure you..." I began
"Safe from what? Why are you giving my number to more of your muffin people?" she growled
"Look Hannah, I just need some information from you, it's important...it has to do with Muffin-Sensi..." I trying to explain
"Edward has some nerve making you call me with pranks like this." she grumbled
"It's not a prank, and he didn't ask me to call, we need some information about his past, about those years when he left the village and met you." I reasoned with her
"Why?" she demanded
"It's important. Please, just make a quick trip here and..." I trying to make my point
"I'm not comming to that Village unless Anna is there." she said firmly.
"Anna can't be here." I replied, equaly stubborn
"Why not?" she demanded
"...just come here and answer some quick questions." I pleaded
"Let me speak to my daughter." she told me
"I'll have her call you back." I growled
"Fine." Hannah hung up the phone
Grape Soda clapped, "I applaude your people skills."
"She won't come here unless Anna is here, and Anna is NOT comming here." I announced
"If we have a safe place here, then we could allow Anna and any others in danger to stay there." suggested Grape Soda
"We would have to have some powerful protection charms." James pointed out
"I've researched a few that may work...I mean I couldn't do them...it would take a lot of magic...but maybe Bob or Rodney or someone else could pull them off." Fin added
"What kind of spells?" I asked
"It's some pretty deep magic...I just came acros it a few times, it seems fairly complicated, and may take a few days even...but it would allow us a place that the Darkness couldn't enter." said Fin
"Your boy is very bright Bob, that sounds like a good plan." commented James
"So once we have this safe place, we can protect people the darkness is after." said Tom
"We still need to locate William..." said James softly
"Oh! Bob, that thing you used to find Anna! Do you think it would work with William?" asked Fin
"You're right Fin! The crystal from Muffin-Sensi's basement!" I opened up my handy dandy muffin making kit and rummaged around inside for a bit before pulling out the blue crystal
I handed it to James, and whisptered the incantation to him, "Concentrate on William, let finding him become your hearts desire." I told him
James closed his eyes and whisptered the magical words. The crystal lit up and the blue light shot out in the direction of young Will. then the light flickered, and wavered, and suddenly went out.
"Did it break?" asked Fin
"No, something stopped it from locating him." I said as I took it back from James
"He's lost lost in the darkness..." mumbled James
"No, we'll find him, come on! Fin, go learn everything about those spells, Alex come with me, we can at least go in the right direction now!" I announced as I stood up and walked to the door
"I'll stay here with james for a bit. Good luck searching. Rodney Mia and Ryan should be here soon, once Rodney recovers, I gave him extra strong medicine." said Tom
"I hope he lives..." I muttered as I left the house
Alex and I headed in the direction the crystals light had pointed, but we came to a halt as a cloud of darkness blocked our path.
"He's in there." said Alex
"Well let's go then!" I said as i took a step forward
"No!" yelled Alex as he grabgbed my arm
I was startled and looked back at him, "What's wrong?"
"You'll become lost as well. That's how it works. Something you're looking for is in there, so you go after it, but you'll never find it." Alex explained, "Tom told me, you cannot go near it."
"Then we'll just have to get rid of it. How much longer do you think it'll be until Mia gets here? I need to put my research team on this matter." I said with a smile
This looked like challenge, one more step on my quest.
