Past:
Anette's mother (Olivia) was a commoner, while her father (Byron) was lord of the town she lived in. He fell in love with her, and married her against his family's wishes.
Anette's older brother, Liam, suffers from a sister complex. Since Olivia passed away during childbirth, Liam was the only person left to take care of her.
Lord Byron (not to be confused with the poet) took a new wife, abandoning his kids in favor of a new life. Lady Claire, the woman he married, is harsh and unforgiving. She despieses Anette and Liam, and plans to have her own son, Peter, take the position of lord instead of Liam.
Anette is no easily affected by petty emotions, and is the perfect politician all the time, even when she doesn't need to be...unlike Liam.
