Common Sense (Duh)
My writing, random thoughts, ideas, and... whatever else. :
Description People/Setting Example For My Shop
Something from my JulNo novel.... XD Still needs a lot of editing, I'll tell you that much.

He lead me down the long, dark, hall, stopping abruptly in front of a bolted metal door. A row of four locks on the side guaranteed that it would not be opened by anyone. I began to grow weary, watching him slowly unlock the door. If he were to lead me inside of there, I would have no way out. He slowly turned the keys in each lock. My heart pounded. He opened the door, revealing a long staircase leading down to a dark, musty basement. It was not long before I realized that, if I was there, no one could hear me scream. "Come," he instructed, and started to stride down the creaky, wooden steps. Without thinking, I followed.

As I descended the steps, I was immediately reminded of the set of a horror scene. The only light shining within the basement was emitted from a tiny, barred-up window at the top of one wall. The carpet was mauled and torn to shreds in some places. Besides that, it looked almost like a child's play room. There was a television and video game console resting on a shelf, both left untouched. I spotted two piles of toys in one corner of the room, that contrasted each other greatly- one was new, as though each item was just bought from the store. Each of these looked expensive and shiny. The other pile looked entirely different, and much larger. The toys where broken, shattered, and old, with pieces or limbs ripped onto the floor. I glanced over at a teddy bear with no arms. I spotted a train set, its metal spokes ripped apart. No ordinary child could have done this. I began to tremble when I realized, something strange lived in this basement.

The shredded carpet below my feet caught on my shoe, and I lost my balance, landing flat on my face. Terrified and hurt, tears swelled in my eyes. I didn't want to look up and see anything more. Robert spoke from above me, "Help her," he ordered someone.

A hand reached down to lift me off of the ground. I paused, afraid, but agreed to take it in my own. The pale skin felt dry to my touch. It pulled me up to a standing position.

I balanced myself on my shaky feet, snatching my hand away from the stranger. I stared down at the carpet, seeing the person’s large, black boots. My eyes slowly inched up their body. Black sweatpants, gray sweatshirt, gloves- it seemed that every inch of his body was covered, until I got to his-

Face.

I screamed in fear and shock. The boy backed up, surprised, and joined two others like him, one older, a girl, and a boy who was much younger. My heart pounded for safety, as I turned around to leap up the stairs, but was immediately stopped by Robert. He grabbed my wrist, turning me back around to face them. I felt tears overflow onto my checks, hot and red.

"NO!" I screamed, "No! Let me go! Let me go!" His hands dug deeper into my wrists. I begged for him to let me leave, to no avail.

"Alice," Robert said, leaning down to speak in my ear, these are my nephews, Elliot and Simon, and my niece, Melanie. I'm sure you four will get along fine."
I opened my eyes to look at their terrifying faces. They were pale white, and the very little pigment that came through their skin was a pale rose color. Despite age or gender, each one had the same long, thin lips under a small nose.

I could tell right away which one was the girl, Melanie- her long, black ponytail and slender body gave it away immediately. She must have been at least eighteen, but the other two boys were much younger.

The smallest, who could not have been over eight or nine, glared at me through a mess of black, tangled hair, similar to his sister's. He was lanky and small, standing on his hands and knees as though he was some kind of primate.

However, the middle child was different from the other two. He was rather short and gave the most uncertain blank stare of them all. But the thing that was truely unique about him was his snowy white hair, which seemed to illuminate when it caught the pale sunlight.

But their eyes were what scared me at all. They were large, much larger than average human eyes, with irises as black as coal. No light reflected from their pupils- no color shone through at the rims. The irises were large, and the eye outside very white. Even whiter than their pale skin.

This one is 785 words, which would equal just a little more than 2,200 coins total. :3
