Here we go again, after a year away from it I've started back up. Here it is, a re-write of the first part of Price of Miracles. More to come soon, hopefully four different stories, one for each main character, and maybe some extras.

Price of Miracles: RE – Snow
Chapter One
Part One: Thoughts of Lonely Snow

She stares, silently, out into the white world beyond equally white walls. Snow drifts downward, silent flakes of white in contrast to the darkness. Transient, she fades, intangible, yet real. She is not a person, nor is she a spirit, but she is caught somewhere between. Half a soul, given its’ own body, wanders the halls of long abandoned hospital.
“So many…” She frowns, tapping the glacial windows with her fingers. Her breath condenses in the frigid air.
“Every one of you is unique…” She mocks, “Unique, inconsequential, and in the end useless. We’re so alike…”
She stares at the glass at a face she knows so well and glares. Brown eyes stare back, black hair, cut short, waves slightly as she breathes. Pale skin, flushed cheeks from the cold, yes, this is ‘her’ face. The face she hates. Glass shakes with the force of impact, rattling within the aged frame. She forces the window open, allowing the snow to drift into the already frozen room. Snow flows around her, and she catches a flake in her hand.
“You have fulfilled your destiny, little snowflake. You’re free… You can die now… I truly envy you.” The girl cries, wishing so dearly that she could be free, too, even if it meant death.
“Why am I being held in this world..? An unfinished task..? Is there something here for me… or is this punishment for ‘her’ miracle..?” She stares out towards the night sky, smiling a smile so false you would think it was real.
“That’s right… I’m alone on this, aren’t I?” The stillness of the night and the falling snow answer her with silence.
