Dear Economically Conscious Gaia, I'm not sure what balanced gold granting will do for us. Sure maybe concerning some things it could help, or it could cause slight a raise in prices. But need I point out that there is a monopoly out there, unhindered by your thoughtful gold tweaking. Cash shops. So long as that part of the economy is untouched, it'll most likely remain the same, if not it'll probably get more expensive and turn all else into pudding, and who of the CS customers would complain? They're making out big, and there are not regulations of their items on top of that. You wanna fix the economy? Make cash shops, NOT cash shops. I don't care if you price the items there high, but get rid of the concept because that is what is messing us up. Anything that can be obtained by gold is pretty damn low now because anything that's only obtainable by cash or extremely, and I mean extremely hard/long term effort [like beyond gold mountain], is running everyone else outta business. And with you guys constantly updating it and just throwing us a bone here and there as if you even believed stuff like this'd make a difference... I'm hard pressed to think that right now you're efforts = futile = fail. Eventually us pure gold users will only have one choice if we wanna get ahead gold wise, or get those extremely expensive items: buy from cash shop- Which is a ridiculous notion, but there's a sucker born every day. And judging by the way things are now-a-days, we've got the majority of them. So looking at what the larger issue is, I'd have to ask who's economical stand point are you really thinking about?... Gaia's users or your own? Months and months of cash items a.k.a. Eco-Rape and here and there an eco-tweak... What are you trying to do? Out beat George Bush? Ja, aho.

	I more than agree with you! In all certainty, I can't comprehend the meaning behind me buying a good/item that is not tangible whatsoever and can be easily lost in a horrible, apocalyptic corruption of a server. I, personally, would be more than happy to accumulate the gold needed to get an 'uber' expensive item, which would take me months, months to acquire, but owing to the fact that such a thing can be replaced by my hard-earned cash...I am at a loss. Not only because I am marginally poor in real life does this bother me so much, the whole concept of it does! What happened to the Gaia that was user-friendly, at the least, and somewhat fake-money expensive at the most? I feel as if Gaia has devolved into this facade of a poorly defined e-Bay a the very least, and a fake-up of MySpace/Neopets at the worst. Bring back the Gaia we used to love admins!! Bring back the Gaia that rewarded time and effort in your challenging games and awesome business skills, because to put it in lame/plain terms, this Gaia you have created sucks!!

	Yeah, think I have a thread along the lines of complaining about the cash shop... But there are users who support the idea, that they need money to feed their families too. And there were others who said Gaia is a forum site, and that the economy doesnt have anything to do with it. A load of bullshit, if you ask me. I agree with Gen, bring back the old gaia! And theres a link in my sig to a petition against the cash shops.

	Not to mention the recent 'event' about shops going out of business, just so we could donate 5k A PIECE to the site, which, by the way, is obvious that shops dont go out of business for gaia...

To all of you lol. x3 But yes, I mean fine it's understandable Gaia does have a staff and hence has employees and what not, and hence it's in fact a business of some sort. I'm no schmuck that just zombie crawled outta my mom's uterus yesterday, I know you guys require money - how much? I don't know, but you also won't say. So we're even. Still, I don't like the idea of cash shops either, but more because there is no gold/ game time [like Gold Mountain and Prize and Joy] equivalent offered, even if it was extremely high in price or time consuming and difficult, hence no threat, no competition, and no real invisible hand that would really battle the issues we see now. Same thing with the electricity incident in California back in the day, or with today's gas prices. Though some would say, Who is Gaia to give a gold price just to regulate it's people? Why do they get to choose the price? And I can't say much to that, there are ethics I can't even fathom to go back and forth on before passing out from processing overload. But a shorter answer to that would be, should such a thing be implemented, who are the the other users to complain? Cash shop's is now equal opportunity for all users in all senses and regulation was just plus. Now, the reality, can this all be done? Will this all be done? [Probably not, according to the invisible hand unless Gaia finds itself between a rock and a hard place with it's users.] If it happened it could in fact hinder the Gaia corps annual income. So.. What do I really honestly want the most right now or can at least wish out of them with out it turning into one of my obscene scientific dreams of breeding my own line of unicorns or forming a my very own bubble city of safety and convenience? Just-don't-tug-our-chains. Simple as that, you need money? Tell your users, we listen [Guaranteed].Cash shops is your main source of income? Say it! Crap you might even get more cash shop buyers if it's true that donations and sponsors aren't cutting it anymore [If-it's-true]! It wont come off as greedy since we all want to see Gaia to flourish. But most of all please, please... Don't dog us like we'll roll over and the turn of a finger and surely don't put the bone on the fishing line and expect us to walk, or pat us on the head after you've given us a thorough spanking and expect us to be chill. And one more thing, I dont think the Old Gaia is up to par with things today, though I do miss it extremely not just the way things were but the people, the atmosphere... a lot (of course such an issue is a paradox on its own Gaia changes- users change- Gaia changes- bringing in more different users, etc. It's goals that count.). Instead I propose for the betterment of Gaia To bring in a reign of Neo-Oldschool: The best of both worlds. Now that? That is shmexy. >B3 <3
