Idk dang don't judge me... where was that off of...oh never mind
Wow. My preface.
Don't you people dare say grr. So grr. haha.
No but seriously, Don't be grr because I write this at seriously three in the morning, also I wrote this last year during english class so if it sounds dumb, I've realized. I've gotten better since then.

The sea of midnight engulfs us in total darkness, the only illumination coming from a dim campfire that vanished into the night as we ran farther from the campsite. We had to get away, I not only felt my fear but I also felt his. Our interlocking figures amplified our puissance as we ran blindly into the night, leaving behind the hope and the victims of the revolting, putrid creature that had caused us so much trouble. Although neither Zachary nor I uttered a word in our escape, it seemed so loud that it could have been the whole world collapsing under our feet; I wouldn’t be surprised if that was the case. Everything combined: our profound, exhausted breathing, our hard foot steps against the unyielding, earthy soil, the sounds of the night, and the stifled echo of our surrounding adversary. Zachary ran fast, but as hard as it was to keep up, I did; I did not loose my footing nor did I let go of his hand. It was far too dangerous for us to be apart, especially now, under these circumstances. We wanted to run and free ourselves from this man, but it seems that he was always one step ahead of us. He was using our escapes to his advantage, and our advantages against us.
But why? Why won’t he stop? Why is it that this man is so caught up in his one boy, how had this all happened? Zachary hadn’t told me everything; although I am glad, I could barley keep my head after everything that had happened. Everything he said, was rushing through my head, my mind was racing. It had felt like it was burning, almost, in its destructive path, keeping us safe. How could this happen to me when last month the only thing I was worried about was what to wear for the dance, now I was fighting for my life.
They’ve found us.
We stopped in the middle of this enormous, dead clearing filled with nothing but cut down trees, it was the death of winter and the birth of spring. The colossal, skeletons seemed to be frozen in a claw, reaching into the midnight heavens, cursing them for abandoning them in this hell. There was dense undergrowth that hadn’t seemed to die over the long frozen months of winter, as if a maze had been made. As Zachary abruptly stopped, the thoughts of jack in the bean stock had come across my mind, for some anomalous reason. This was probably because at this moment it was almost as if we were the giants at the top of the beans stock, fighting to be left alone and to keep our treasure. Although, the conditions were a smidgen dissimilar, we were being chased out of our homes and it wasn’t a golden egg they were after. On the other hand, we were more powerful, much more, and there was an unfair ratio. I was snapped out of my mind rambling when Zach whispered, “Stay close, I won’t let them get you.” It was almost likes a dream as he held me closer in an embrace, giving my hand a reassuring squeeze. I knew there would be danger; I felt the danger in my blood and in my heart. It was almost like they were crushing me as they surrounded us; it got even worse when the bushes began to rustle.
That’s when the roaring sound of artillery began to fill the hours of darkness.
