Charly's log, date 08022009...
Star Trek gag aside, parental unit and I have decided to do our spring cleaning early. Today was day one, we tackled the shelves in the kitchen. We just managed to do the ones on top, because we have lots of them, and not a lot of time. Mostly just putting things back in order and making sure we're not keeping garbage about. Vacuuming the shelves, steam-blasting them for sanitation, and then towel dry, the works. In total we generated a whole black bag of garbage that has to be removed. Mostly some expired stuff.
Considering were busy people, this effort will probably take more than just a weekend to clean up, but we'll get it, and for once the parental unit can't complain I did nothing. I helped carry stuff about, as well as handing her the tools when needed. I feel accomplished indeed.
Next on our itinerary are the main nightmare, the cupboards below. There's a lot of pots and pans, and containers there and it will take longer. Overall, the kitchen is the hardest part, since that's where the biggest mess is. People think the bathroom is the hardest room, our small bathroom, tackled by two with a steam cleaner will take all of maybe two hours and we'll have the porcelein so clean, you could eat off it (just please don't).
I will bring in further updates as they happen.
