Dawn came and went. It was noon when Amber rolled out of her bed. It was a habit for her since her nights went on for so long. However, it didn't matter. She had nothing to do in the morning hours. She looked to see that Sunfire had already gotten up. She wondered what he could be doing right now but she quickly dismissed the thought. Sunfire knew what he was doing. She walked around her modest home with a glass of water in her hand. She took a sip between thoughts. Much was on her mind. This new job would require a few favors to be called in and quite a few gold coins being spent. She walked into the bathroom and stared at her reflection. Her hair was a mess and their were bags beneath her eyes. She grabbed her toothbrush and put some toothpaste on the bristles. After wetting the end she began to brush her teeth. She could feel new life being pored into her as the bristles and bubbles began to work their magic. She spit the paste from her mouth and dipped her head to the sink and took the water in. After a few swishes around her mouth she spit any remaining bubbles from her mouth. Without a thought she grabbed a washcloth and ran it beneath the warm water and then began to scrub her face. She was beginning to feel ready to face the sunlight when the door opened and closed. Sunfire was obviously back from the amount of racket he was making.
“Amber! The sun is high and we have work to do!” he called out to her.
“Thank you Sunfire. As if I didn't know that already. I'm still a lady so I'd like to clean up before I face my adoring public.”
“Adoring?” That was all he got out before the bathroom door was slammed close. “Touchy this morning I think.”

It was about 30 minutes before she emerged from the bathroom. Her hair was in a towel when she walked out. She had put her brown dress on that was her signature look. She had a blue strapless shirt on as well. She was in the process of looking for her gloves, sash, scarf, and belt when Sunfire spoke up. “Your lunch cold it would be if I had brought it.”
She smiled at him while she looked for her belongings. “But I know you would never bring me lunch old friend. However, I'm sure you already indulged in some lunch by now.”
“Never fooling you Amber.”
“No you never are,” she smiled back to him. “HA! Here they are!”
She folded the sash and tied it around her waist giving her dress a deceptive peaceful look. She whipped the belt around her waist next quickly snapping the heart shape buckle. She then unwrapped the towel from her hair and quickly dried her hair. She found a brush and ran it through a few times for good measure. She never was the girlyest of girls so she cared very little for how her looked. Besides that she wore a hat most days. She pulled her fingerless blue gloves over each hand flexing her fingers as the cloth met the webbing between each finger. Next she folded her scarf and tied it around her neck. She looked very much like a woman from the wild west on her way to work the local saloon. If she walked out the door like this thats exactly what people would expect. Then she added the things that shot that illusion to hell. She picked up a large belt that held several clips of ammunition and a couple of wooden stakes and pulled it over so it hung from her right shoulder down to her left hip. She put her brown cowboy hat on and picked up an MP-5 and looked to her partner, “You ready to get this mission started?”
“Ready since 10:30 actually. You might want to grab your lucky ring though.”
“That's why I keep you around Sunfire. You always make sure I remember what's important,” she replied as she walked over to the computer and picked up her green ring from next to the keyboard.
“Where to start though Amber?”
“I've got their names and pictures that Two-K sent over but this doesn't have anything else we can use. No hang outs or anything. We may have to pay a visit to the Tavern.”
“Will Miss Joanne be there? She is nice to me.”
“It's a bit early for her to be there, Sunfire. We could probably grab a table and have a listen around to see if anyone mentions anything we can use. They serve some decent food there, too. Unlike someone....I haven't ate today.”
“Wake up earlier you should. All the eggs be gone if I wait on you.”
“You and your eggs. Lets get to the Tavern before our table is taken,” she replied. She double checked her gear as she opened the door and waved her companion through the door. She looked through the apartment one last time and turned the lock as she shut the door.
