So, I finally got around to getting properly started on Gaia last night. And I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. Maybe it's because the rest of the Internet hasn't left a very inspiring impression on me, but it seems like Gaia may be different to what I've seen so far.
I'd always thought that the Internet was 15% genuinely nice people, 20% pr0n, adverts and viruses, 60% childish bickering, and 5% everything else. But after getting involved with Gaia... who knows, maybe that 15% could climb to 16%, or even *gasp* 17%!
Anyways, the few Gaians I've met so far seem pretty friendly. Of course I'm not assuming there isn't a fair share of asshats on this site, but it would be nice to think that there's at least a few places on the Internet where you can chat with random people and not get drawn into an insult throwing match with them.
