"A soldier came knocking upon the queens door"....... to complain. Really. That's all he did. He thought her war was pointless. The queen was steadfast in what she wanted him to do until she opened herself to him and let him in on a secret. Yet, still he would not fight for her. He felt sorry for her. She was afraid of the new feelings she was feeling for him, so "she took him to the doorstep and asked him to wait. She would only be a moment inside. Out in the distance, her order was heard. And the soldier was killed still waiting for her word. And the queen went on strangling in the solitude she preferred and the battle continued on." That's sad. But my favorite part is the climax where she orders the soldier dead even though she was changed forever by him. She couldn't let him live if he wasn't going to fight for her anymore. She didn't want anyone else to quit. How sad. But that's my favorite folk song besides "Kight Moves" by Suzanne Vega. Here's a video. Pirates of the Carribean fanvid. It's a good song to listen to.
