I lit the candle with a single match. A new reccord. Normally it would have taken me about five or six, but that was just the perfect number for tonight. One.
I got dressed in my best clothes and put the candle outside my bedroom window. I locked my door, first, checking to make sure everyone was asleep and no one was looking, and I slipped out the window.
Carefully marking my footing, I climbed down the house's wall. I looked behind me, both ways on the street, to make sure no one was around or coming, and jumped down from the wall. I landed in some bushes.
The candle was still raised above my head, but it was soon blown out and I was smothered with the same mouth that had blown it out. This person had been my boyfriend, Adam.
Okay, well, maybe the candle had been a little old fashioned. But it was the closest source of light I could find. And I damn well wasn't going into my parents bedroom for their amazing flashlight. They kept it in there just in case I decided to try something like this.
They were so smart to do that. I was pissed at them.
