Well, I finally own/saw the last Stargate: SG1 movie. It was an experience getting it and trying to watch it. I've been waiting well over a year and a half for this. I was tempted to be at Walmart at midnight so I can get it that much earlier, but I figured "No, dummy, they probably won't be selling it until the start of the business day." So, like a good girl, I waited. I woke up at 8 and dilly dallied the morning away until 10:27 when I left for the store. When I got there, I made a beeline for the dvds. I searched and searched and could not find my movie! So I searched the empty shelf slots thinking that they might restock soon, I found not one, but TWO empty slots for the movie. Pale and shaking, I approached the electronics check-out line. One of the ladies greeted me and I asked if they had the movie Stargate: Continuum. She says, "Oh, honey, did that come out today?" And she said it in a dismayed tone! Oh I was scared. But she confirmed that all new releases were still boxed up and she pointed to a trolly of boxes beside the check-out. I searched the boxes for the magic words as she opened them and peered inside. The first box she looked in had two Stargate lables (one for blu-ray, one not), so I bounced up and down. She set that box aside after looking in it and picked up another. Ah! Mis-lable! She goes through all the boxes, and the movies are mixed in the boxes, before she looks back in the first one. Finally she turns to me and says, "I'm sorry, honey, but I don't think we have it up here." I said that it was on the side of a box and this time we looked together. There it is!!! She was trying to look at the lable upside down. Mou... Anyway, I was quickly rung up and I raced my way outside. I also filled my car's gas tank. Gas was down to $3.82. It only cost me $31 to refill. Life was good.
My mom and dad both mentioned wanting to watch the movie with me, so I set it aside and waited, patiently might I add, for them to come home. I had had the dvd player on since 3 as it takes awhile to load. Dad got home at 4. I started opening the movie at 5:30. Mom got home at 5:34. Dad was in the living room, ready to watch it. Mom went to her room to change clothes and while back there, she laid down and went to sleep!! Come 7 I was a twitchy mess. She finally woke up at 8:52. At 9:08 I set the movie in the dvd player.
Life is good.
