See You Next Tuesday!

1. How did See You Next Tueday Start/form?

Drew's old band Alogon had just broken up and he was looking to start
something else. He wanted to play guitar and just started writing over
the
top death metal riffs. He asked Bear to join the band cause of his
bitchin
facial hair, and tried me out on drums cause he knew I had a drum set,
a
house, and a PA. I sucked at first but had good tempo. As the riffs got
more
complicated, so did the drum parts. We were all forced to get better at
what
we did cause the music was becoming more and more intricate.

2. What are some influences?

Way too many. But I guess Daughters, Locust, any nu metal band you can
think
of, Van Halen, Tower of Rome, Pantera, Bodies In The Gears Of The
Apparatus,
Coalesce, Sawtooth Grin, The Great Redneck Hope, The Number Twelve
Looks
Like You, movies, pizza, and the desire to never have to go to school
or
work a shitty day job.

3. Explain Brootal for some of the folks.

Br00tal, with 2 zeros, I suppose is a leet way of saying anything that
gets
you really pissed or pumped or motivated enough to run around and go
nuts. A
Riff or part that is so overwhelmingly heavy that all you can do is
smile
about it.

From Dictionary.com
bru..tal.. /..brutl/ Pronunciation[broot-l] ..adjective
1. savage; cruel; inhuman: a brutal attack on the village.
2. crude; coarse: brutal language.
3. harsh; ferocious: brutal criticism; brutal weather.
4. taxing, demanding, or exhausting: They're having a brutal time
making
ends meet.
5. irrational; unreasoning.
6. of or pertaining to lower animals.

4. How'd See You Next Tueday fit the spot as a name for the band?

That's a multiple part answer. First off, the name is a reference to
Sex And
The City, also an indiscreet way of calling someone a c**t. Also, when
you
hear the name See You Next Tuesday, you think Thursday, Taking Back
Sunday,
Blue Monday, Early November... all that s**t and instantly figure we'll
be a
whiney emo band. But then 5 seconds into the first song you realize
that
we're the polar opposite of that. Obviously kids on Lamb Goat didn't
get
that joke lol. Poor kids...

5. How has touring around America been?

It's been amazing. There is nothing more euphoric than driving through
completely foreign places and soaking up the scenery. I'm 21 and can
already
say I've driven through both Mountain scapes in the US, Deserts, The
Hoover
Dam, Vegas, NYC... Not many people can say that and we're all extremely
greatful for the opportunity to do this. People are so different
everywhere
we go, but at the same time, no different. The red neck accent exists
in all
walks of land haha.

6. Now that you guys switched labels, from Debello, to Ferret, What is
to
come out of it?

Just the mere fact that we were on Debello helped us book our tours. A
band
on any label is going to have an easier time booking themselves as
opposed
to a band on no label. We worked hard to promote each other and Debello
has
a great set of personal ethics. They will never deal with a band that
they
don't personally like, which I think the music industry these days
lacks as
a quality.

Ferret is obviously much more established and was actually our "dream
label"
when we were first joking around about getting signed one distant day.
They're really nice guys and want to work with the bands as opposed to
telling them exactly what to do on EVERY decision. They give their
bands
quite a lot of creative freedom which is what a band like us needs.
Ferret
will be releasing our first full length cd and we will be touring non
stop
in support of it. We've been working towards this for almost 3 years
now and
we're ready for the really hard part. And the fact the Ferret is going
to be
there helping us make sure we accomplish what we set out to do makes
this
whole thing so much more meaningful for us.

7. How Would You describe the last e.p?

I would describe our last EP as the first real incarnation of the band.
Those 3 songs will appear on the new album. It was originally going to
be 5
songs, but one just wasn't up to par with the rest and the other song
we cut
was a totally different style. It was all epic and like one huge
breakdown
and we realized that it wasn't exactly what we wanted to do. So we cut
the
shitty song and the black sheep. The last EP was recorded by my brother
Matt
Dalton and 37 Studios and he did an amazing job. It's merely a tease
for
what's to come. But we needed something, anything that people could
hear.
That was our new stuff, and now it's become old. But we still play it
live
and will continue to do so.

8. The new album, What the fans to expect? Is it the same Brutality
that
synt has always brought, or is there a new sound or direction?

The idea behind SYNT is to write the most intense music that we can
come up
with. The fans can expect a relentless sounding album with all 3 songs
from
the EP rerecorded. The only new direction we've really gone in is
having a
few doomy parts in songs. But that in no way means we're going to be
writing
7 minute songs. Just image the 3 song EP recorded in a professional
studio
with 10 other equally brutal tracks with an average of a minute and a
half
per song. There's no way our fans will be disappointed in the Full
Length.

9. Now that rick has left and travis is in, Has his departure made any
changes or problems making music?

Basically... Drew comes up with parts, riffs, songs in his head all
day.
Anytime you're having a conversation with Drew, he's actually probably
not
listening to you but working on something in his head. He works them
out
with a guitar later, brings them to me (andy), and we argue and
pratctice
the parts untill the timing of his riffs make sense. Once Drew and I
have it
solid, then we're ready for bass and vocals. So to answer your
question, no.
Having Travis replace Rick will create no problems. In fact, Travis
contributes much more to the band and we're trying out more ideas and
different approaches to riffs in general.

Thanks man!

-Andy & SYNT
