part eight
Whitefeather and the forest flashed before my eyes then vanished altogether. Upon waking I found myself laying fin Hawkeye’s arms. Blushing I sat up and laid my hand on the bark of the tree saying, “Thank you.” It sadden me in way because I could no longer feel any life coming from it.
“What happened; we heard gasp and begin to fall, I barely managed to catch you.” Hawkeye said with concern.
“You saw the past didn’t you?” Fireclaw asked. I nodded and sat by the tree, both moved closer as I explained what I saw. Hawkeye stared in disbelief but Fireclaw gave me a sad smile. “You asked me why I chose you and now you know. It was your strength that gave me enough power to return to the orb,” he said.
“Is the Ruby Dragon your friend?” I asked.
“Not exactly; we’re more of a balance between the light and darkness,” he said.
“So the only reason you lost was because Whitefeather wasn’t completely pure,” I asked.
“Yes,” Fireclaw hissed.
“Where are you and the Ruby Dragon from?” Hawkeye asked.
“Sadly I don’t know, the only time we saw each other was that time we fought,” Fireclaw answered.
“So you laid trapped in that egg?” I asked. Firelcaw nodded but didn’t say anything. “They used you two to control everyone and separate the races, right?” Again Fireclaw nodded but kept silent.
Now I didn’t know what to think, I had always admired and liked Whitefeather for being a kind and caring leader. I couldn’t imagine him using force to take over a race but then again looks could be deceiving. Whitefeather had been a kind and generous, could he really be a monster deep down? Or could it be something more, could he have taken command of my race because he feared what Red-eye would do if he got his hands on both races? I still had many questions but I knew they were tired, as was I so we headed back. Just before we broke through the trees I stopped causing Hawkeye to walk into me.
“What’s up?” he asked. Not saying a word I pointed to the village which was strangely lit. Fireclaw understood what it meant and climbed up the nearest tree. Hawkeye and I followed suite and climbed up the nearest tree as well. We had to climb halfway up the tree before we found we found a couple sturdy branches but we finally managed to settle with the fear of falling.
Capter10- Red-eye
Having safely locked up Whitefeather and his people, I brought a small group of soldier back to the spot where we had came across that freak Hawkeye. I was surprised to find him gone but happy when one of my soldiers found a trail of blood, which Moonscar identified as Hawkeye’s. I made a quick decision to follow it and hope to find him and whoever may have helped him. I was eager and excited as I followed it, riding on Moonscar’s back. I never realized it would bring me back to Whitefearther’s village. It took a while to get back but it went quicker without prisoners and so many men. “So that freak came here, did he?” I asked a loud.
