A bumpy landing...

Well, my first entry. It's quite late so I'm not really sure what I'll be writing and it'll probably be quite short. But it's been a very interesting first day! I applied to a police force (who hopefully will have me, despite my n00b-ness, as I am eager and dedicated!), I met alot of interesting people, made a few friends and reported a few cyber-sex criminals. So it's all gravy.

Or *is* it? On the subject of cyber sex, I knew there would be some of it here, but just.. Not as much of it as there is! I mean.. My goodness! There are children here that are exposed to things that they should not be and there are so many people who are doing these terrible things. I couldn't keep up with reporting them all! I think I got through about 5 before I gave up.

Despite that though, I do still feel cautiously optimistic about this place. It does seem like much fun and hopefully once I've got some gold in the bank and I'm feeling a bit more knowledgeable about the world and I've got a few more friends then maybe I'll start to really appreciate it for the wonderful, vibrant place that it is.
It's just a shame nearly everyone runs on EST... ¬_¬

So yes, that was my night. I got a house and a car with nothing very much to either of them which will hopefully change in time. I really hope I get a position with the police, as that would be rather wonderful. It would make me enjoy this place alot more and in a whole different way, not to mention give me a way to give something back too the community around me.

I stand upon a steeping stone to greatness.. So here goes! biggrin

Also, watch the vid, it's an interesting little thing about the Whitby Gothic Weekend and the Goth subculture in general from the viewpoint of an 'outsider'. I love watching it, it's got lots of wonderful and interesting people in it, plus it shows the subculture in a very interesting light.
