Blood Drive and Dissection (Yuck!)

And Everything Else....
(Okay, these both took place the day before yesterday and yesterday. But I'm finally writing them now -_-.)
The day before yesterday was the blood drive. And I was one of those fellow students who donated. Well first, you have to check in and read a book (?) about the blood drive (you know, precautions and such). They then give you a number, and then a nurse will ask you some questions. Like if you ever been living in the UK for more than five years, or had any sexual contact with anyone. Oops, I forgot. First they p***k your middle finger (on your left hand), kind of like how the diabetic p***k themselves. Then they'll take the drop of blood, and drop it into a vial with blue liquid. This is to test the iron in your blood. And if the blood reaches the bottom of the vial within fifteen seconds, you're good to go! Mine went down within that time ^_^. They also took a look at my arms, for rashes and stuff. They could see my veins, so that was a good sign! After all that's over and done with you drink a cup of water, and then you're ready to give blood.
The beds we laid down on weren't really beds, but porch chairs. Still comfy. The nurse put some iodine on my arm (to keep the area clean). Then, it was time for the needle. Dun, dun, DUN!!!! I had to hold onto somebody's hand and shut my eyes tight to avoid looking at that needle (I did the same thing with the pricking. Only I did NOT hold any body's hand). But it wasn't that bad. I only felt a slight pain when they put the needle in. And that was that. (I feel bad for my friend Marilla though. They couldn't find a vein to stick the needle in. So she said it hurt.) They then gave me a warm pack to squeeze, since my fingers were cold. It felt warm, and squishy and weird! They took a pint of my blood (pint= two cups) which surprised me. But its not that bad. It only took about six minutes. Six minutes! It felt more like two.... I asked if I could take a look at my blood afterwards, they said sure. I got a good look at it and said "A vampire would like that!" (Of course I then said that maybe a vampire wouldn't because it would be cold, and vampires don't like cold blood. Apparently nobody knew that.) I was then allowed to have cookies and juice, (they also had dried fruit, cheese nips, trail mix, raisins, and water. I had fruit punch, an oreo cookie, some fruit, and water. I didn't really want anything) I was told to get up and walk slowly, but I didn't want to!
I had fun that day. Yeah, my sense of fun is weird.... ;; I was also given a pin in the shape of a blood drop (looks more like a red tear drop) with a cross in the middle of it. I also kept the cup that I drank the water out of, and a still have my (light blue) bandage! All in all, it was fun. And I'm planning on doing this next year too.
But yesterday, ugh, was gross. We dissected frogs for goodness sakes! It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, and I even got to poke its spleen! Mwa ha ha ha ha! (Actually, the frog was a girl because there was little eggs inside of her.) Personally, however, I did NOT enjoy seeing frog guts. Especially the eggs. Eeeewwww.... Not very descriptive 'on the frogs now am I?
Well, that's about it for today. Until next time!
Jaa'ne!
