Now, this is a really good manga, developed characters, a nice and smooth plot, and most of all great art! The setting is a place called Steam City, set in a slightly 1920's to 1930's background. The world's only power source is steam, they have these remote/steam powered robots called megamatons and a chock full of awesome baddies. The story follows a boy detective by the name of Narutaki, his nurse companion Ling Ling, and Ling Ling's megamaton Goriki which contians the brain of Ling Ling's genius father and operates of it's own accord (supposedly unheard of). The focus of the manga is not the awesome action scenes, but the deductive/Holmesian thinking of Narutaki and the clever plot twists of the story. The story progresses by case files, not just on one, long running plot which is good because it gets to showcase each character's personalities by how they react to the situation. Plus, just the ideas behind the city and all of the whacky bad guys adds color to an already vivid story.
PG13 for some swearing, and a little panty shot every now and then
Fun Fact: The same artist that created Silent Mobius also does this manga as well.
