The Dark Fighters Saga: Saga 1: Chapter: 2 (Part I)
Chapter 2:
The Mark of Power (part I)

"Inda? That's quite a funny name, but I like it." Tayia replied, "And thanks just the same for helping me, rather you're a hero or not."

"It's really no big deal." Inda said, "Anyway, we should be leaving. This is not safe. That demon could return to finish the job."

Inda lead the way down the road, but stayed near the brush incase if the demon really did return. Perhaps it would throw him off of their trail-even for a bit.

(Setting: In the safety of tall trees and high brush)

The two men stood-far out of their normal territory, covered in the darkness of the shade, but they still crouched down.

"So, what do you think? I told you I had everything under control." One of the men said.

"I suppose. He certailly has the heart and will. But does he have the power that he needs. The bit of power granted by us will do nothing to aid him." The second replied.

"Don't worry. He's got the mark for strong power granted by the legendary Spirits. he is also of the age to receive it. We just have to wait until they find the fitful time to offer it to him."

"You really think he will accept it?"

"Without a doubt."

With that, the two mysterious men vanished, back to where they trully belonged.

(Setting: A bank near a river
Time: Dusk)

"You think this will be a safe area to camp?" Tayia asked, watching as Inda started a fire to cook a few fish he had managed to catch in the lake.

"I believe so. We're off the main road, but we are not too deep in the woods to really have to worry about lesser demons or bandits. Besides, you've got your so-called hero to protect you, right?" Inda replied as he sat down, proud of his hard work.

"I suppose." Tayia replied with now pink cheeks. She looked away so that Inda could not see.

During the journey together, Inda had told Tayia that she could stay with him until they got somewhere where she could possibly stay. He couldn't have just left a defenseless girl who had lost everything alone. That had surprised him though. She was being strong after facing the loss of everything, unless if the overall shock had not yet settled in her. Or had he given her someone else to ease the pain. Though he was still a stranger, perhaps she felt okay because he was her "hero."

"Inda, I have been curious on your reasons for traveling. You don't have to tell me if you do not want to, though."

Inda smiled kindly, "It's not like it is a big secrect, although I do suppose it is a weird and silly reason for traveling. But, it isn't like I've got anything else to do." He said, before explaining, "I had a dream a few nights ago. It felt real, and the voice felt like it was right at my ear... I was told to go to Darkstorm II's grave. There, something life-changing will happen... Who knows what it all means, but as I said before i had nothing else to look forward to."

"But his grave is supposedly curse. Aren't you afraid that you might die or something?" Tayia frowned, "Or what of your family? Aren't they worried about you, or won't they weep?"

"I'm not really afraid of what will happen to me. As for family, my mother died when I was quite young, and my father-well, he disapeared. All I have left is my guardian, who told me that it is my decision on what to do with my life. So, I decided to go."

"I see. But who is this guardian? Why isn't he here?"

"You ask a lot of questions." Inda laughed, "My guardian is an odd fellow. He comes to me when he wants, and seems to be able to find me wherever I go. But he seems to be quite shy because he won't go around others when he is with me, so I doubt that you will see him."

Tayia blushed again, "Just one more, please." She said, before continueing with her curious questions, "What's his name?"

"His name? He only goes by DarkChaos." Inda replied before adding, "But that's all I know about him. He's never told me about himself. But dispite the fact that he is basically an unknown man, in all of the years I've known him, he has never done anything to harm me. He has always taken care of me, so I trust him."

"I see." Tayia smiled, "he sounds quite nice then. I do hope I get to meet him before we part our ways."

The two were silent for a while, taking in the sights and smells. Inda watched the fish, to be sure that they cooked fully before removing them from around the fire and once cooled, he handed two to Tayia, "Hope you don't mind fire-cooked fish."

"They look very good. Thanks for taking care of dinner." She replied as she accepted her dinner.

As night went on, they ate their dinner, before Tayia had fallen asleep.

Inda smiled as he layed his long trench coat over the girl, before letting the fire out, and sitting at the base of a tree. He remained awake, but soon sleep had taken its hold of him and he too went out...
