Don't waste that life of yours. Even though our lives may not be as climatic and interesting as those we roleplay or the ones we watch on TV, we were all meant to live. Life is far much greater than scores on a test, jumping the highest or looking the prettiest. Life, for me, is seeing a smile spread across another's face. A true smile that warms the bottom of my heart and makes me smile. Learning about ourselves and making mistakes is how you go about living life. Instead of looking back on a mistake that may have caused an argument or made someone feel down, you can look forward and take what you've learned from that mistake and put it to good use in living out the rest of your life. We may lose ourselves along the way and get our hearts knotted up over a mistake. That's why we have to look to each other to make that smile come back on our face to get back on track.
Many words of life talk about self sacrifice. Have you ever tried it? Instead of getting yourself something you've always wanted, try getting something for someone else that they've always wanted. Self-satisfaction comes and goes faster than you can imagine. Seeing someone else smile brightly when you give them something is far more satisfying than taking care of your own desires. Many of us don't have the money to do things such as that, but there's something else we can do for another person and that's day to day kindness. I believe in the phrase of "Pay it Forward." People have a talent of ignoring other's problems and in today's society it seems as though its becoming a natural habit. It takes true courage and talent to turn and face those problems. Don't take the easy way out and ignore it. The world will never move forward if all we do is shut it out and worry about ourselves. If someone has a bad day, cheer them up. If you're having a bad day, sit back and tell yourself that it could always be worse and be thankful that its not. If you're down in the dumps, get up and do something that will make you feel good. If you're just plain bored, go out and enjoy life. Take a walk and you may see something that you can do or help with. Do you know of a next door neighbor that isn't able enough to shovel their own sidewalk? Are there kids outside playing by themselves when they'd rather be playing with another person? Is there someone you haven't talked to in a while that would nice to call? Have you gone through your clothes and gotten rid of the ones you've grown out of? Donate those tight shirts to the less fortunate.
The generation below us is growing up in a world that cares about getting a credit card at the age of 14 or wearing name brand jeans that cost more than a grown man's daily paycheck. Materialistic things can't keep a smile on your face. Humans grow tired of things that don't change. Why buy those jeans when you can adopt an animal that will grow with you? Why buy those jeans when you can take the person you admire in life out to a nice dinner and leave the waitress serving you a nice tip?
Become a role model. Create a smile.
