Wow was that intense. So much happened in so little time! I was hoping from one room to the next, wondering where my Friday panels got to (incredible schedule changes that first day), and just chatting with anyone I ran into. My friends all cosplayed DeathNote characters, but I went as 'random anime girl #7.' You know her as that chick that dies in the beginning when they introduce the bad guy/great evil taking over the world. xd I love those characters, since they get no love in the shows. Someone has to love them! Friday was crazy, and I ended up skipping the rave due to the ride down sucking the life out of me. Driving makes me sleepy, so I napped and organized my battle plan for Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday I had so much energy it was sickening. I'd started to run down about 6, but the Anime Recruitment and Gaia Social events whipped me into full otaku mode again. Lanzer says was a blast. (I did miss the beginning of the Gaia event because of the recruitment panel, but it was a great panel.) I peeked down into the dealers room and bought a Gwee for a spin on the wheel (I got peasant gloves I think... I can't remember and did the daily chance before checking my inventory). After the Gaia event I hung out a while in the Inner Harbor before heading to the rave. My group was crashing at the hotel after over-doing it all at once (my Friday nap payed off) so I was solo. I had a ball dancing and when I overheated I went in search of people to talk to. I ran into quite a few Death Note, Kyo Kara Maoh, YuGiOh, Harry Potter(No spoilers!), Full Metal Alchemist, and Loveless fans I could talk to. I also ran into people who didn't have a clue what one of the above was about and asked me to explain. (In DS pictochat I entered conversations with the above list typed and the written ord 'Hi' for a while.) After a while I started desperately hunting for a duelist to run my newly-tweaked deck against. No one had a YuGiOh deck... I was so crushed.
I spent most of Sunday in the Dealers room and Artist's alley stocking up with my sister. Unfortunately, the sandwiches we brought with us spoiled Saturday night (what do you mean 'unlocking the refrigerator costs $100 a night?' We don't want the booze, just the cold air!) so we had to save a bit for food at the food court. We had an extra night at the hotel (we had to book 3 nights, the hotel only books odd numbers for some reason ninja )
I only regret two things: Not bringing my sister to the Inner Harbor Sunday night for a look about, and not coming up with a Kyo Kara Maoh costume. I've been to the Inner Harbor before but my sister hasn't. She was only there to grab a quick meal that contained vegetable matter (no more ham sandwiches!) and head back to the AMVs. I'm determined to cosplay Gunter next year, since he got absolutely no love from anyone. I did see two groups of KKM cosplayers that totaled 2 Wolframs, 2 Yurri's, 1 Conrad, and 1 Gwendle. If I feel bold I might go as Annisina one day, just for giggles, but I'd need much more funds to do her (the pink wig would be more cash than a white one, same with fabric) than I think I'll have disposable for a while.
