- Chapter 4: The Wedding

Athrun smiled brightly as he wandered down the hallways of the ZAFT vessle to the main dining chamber, this is where his love was awaiting his arrival. Lacus Clyne sat in the chair in the middle, she was socialising with the other shipmates about life and how awful the war was. She waved and smiled heartily at Athrun as he made his way to her. They chatted about their wedding for hours on end. It was only a week away until they were to be married, and like Athrun promised her he would take her to a high mountaintop to be wed and they would have the reception in a large Neo Japanese restaurant. Also since Athrun and Kira are best friends outside of the combat zone he had sent a formal invitation to kira and his friend.

- Meanwhile on the archangel. -

Haseo and Kira were floating around the simulation room with water guns, apparently the two of them were very bored and had nothing better to do rather than fool around, also they managed to drag Flay and Mirallia along for the chaotic evening as well. As kira shot off a few water gun rounds haseo was preparing to hurl waterballoons like mad at kira. The fun was going on for quite a while until Mu's voice rang out. " Hey Kira! Haseo! there's an Invite for you two! It's from Ath- uhh I mean a very close friend of you'res!!" Kira and Haseo nodded as they got back into their uniforms and floated off to the cockpit.

As the duo came upon the cockpit Mu handed them the nicely decorated paper with the ZAFT seal on it offering a one day truce to attent the wedding between Lacus and Athrun. Haseo nodded and he accepted his invitation. apparently Kira was asked to be the best man. Haseo rushed off to his room to get his best looking clothes ready. He sighed as he thought about how big of a step Athrun was taking and how it would affect the war effort.

- four days later, Earth on the high cliff facing China -

Athrun and his mother walked together up the aisle that the spectators had created. Kira was standing near the front to the side. Athrun was overjoyed to know that his moment had come for him to finally be wedded to the woman he had dreamed about for the longest time. And here came Lacus, wearing a white wedding gown with a proper tiara and veil followed by her bridesmaids. The procession had marched up the area and all was proceeding well. Haseo stood in the front row watching as the wedding commenced.

The preacher looked upon the couple and began his sermon to join the lucky couple in holy matrimony. after about thirty minutes of holyness and speech he stated. " Athrun Zala do you take Lacus Clyne as you're lawfully wedded wife? To have and to hold? In sickness and in health? as long as you both shall live?" Athrun looked over to Lacus and took her hands as he said " I couldnt ask for anything else, I do.". The preacher turned his attention to Lacus and stated " Lacus Clyne, do you take Athrun Zala as you're lawfully wedded husband? TO have and to hold? In Sickness and in health? as long as you both shall live?" Lacus Nodded happily and said "I do Indeed with the entirety of my heart." The preacher satisfied with their commitment to eachother finally announced out loud on that slightly windy mountaintop " then by the power invested in me, I dub thee Man and wife. Athrun and Lacus Zala, may you live a strong life of love and commitment through you're passage and growth in this life. Athrun you may kiss the bride." Athrun looked at his new wife and he slowly lifted her veil. She blushed violently but she moved with Athrun into a passionate and loving kiss. The crowd applauded loudly and everyone was cheering for the newly weds. Haseo was on the edge of his seat Saying "CONGRATULATIONS ATHRUN!" Kira was also ecstatic for his best friend.

Haseo sighed lightly as he stood up and he streched and yawned after the procession left he was tired and didnt think he'd need to stay for the reception. He took the rented motorcycle back to the sector 11 space port and went back to the archangel. where Mirallia had him do a minagre of chores. But ultimately it resulted in Haseo speaking to Flay about Kira. " so how would I get Kira's attention? You're his friend you should know right?" Haseo shrugged and said " I'm not sure....why not just ask him to speak with you alone then talk to him up front. but I doubt he'll be getting home until 11 PM." Haseo stated going to the hanger to help repair the strike Duo.

After about 6 hours of intense labour Kira finally came back to the Arcangel and he was tired as a dog. apparently there was a shootout with some unknown enemies but he figured it was best not to dwell on it for a while. Kira then went into his room where he was followed by Flay just a few minutes later. Haseo felt that sincec it was a rather long day he should get some rest as well. Athrun and Lacus now had to go on a honeymoon so if there was another ZAFT attack Neither Lacus OR Athrun would be present so this was a bonus for Kira and Haseo both.
