MEGaladon_ Melena had surprisingly listened to Angelus' command to stay sheltered in her bedroom until she obtained enough rest. She was hardly one to disobey, but for a moment or two after he had tucked her in, the young girl had thought that surely she would get up and run off. Fatigue and weakness had claimed her though, keeping her down for a remainder of the time that she had been isolated. Although nightmarish memories had plagued her, Melena had managed to calm down in the furthest corner of her bedroom with a pillow and the ever-so familiar music box. The trembling had ceased and the initial feeling of exhaustion had come crashing down on her small shoulders like a ton of bricks. She was out like a light in a matter of seconds.
Her awakening had come hours upon hours later, starting off with a barely audible yawn as she stretched out her lithe form on the floor. ...The floor? Oh yes, that was right, she had slept there. Groggily rubbing the sleep from her hazel and orchid eyes, Melena rose to her feet and shuffled towards her private bathing quarters. Her face felt clammy and oddly enough, strained. It only took her a few mere seconds to turn on the sink faucet and to then proceed to splash her pale face with the heated water. It rinsed away the stains of red on her cheeks from her previous outburst of tears. Patting her porcelain face dry, the young girl waltzed back into her bedroom. She slipped back into her black stockings and then into the emerald slipper.
Twirling around childishly to get any wrinkles out of her emerald dress, a small satisfied smile became visible upon the upward curve of her pale mouth. Her heavy caramel curls were still as neat as ever and needed little maintenance. 'I wonder where everyone is...' A harmless thought to say the least. Melena hated being all alone -- it simply depressed her further. Night had indeed fallen, signaling her time for release from her confinement. Peeking her head out the door, Melena looked both ways before sliding out fluidly and closing the door behind her. 'Oh Julian...you've disappeared again, haven't you?' The young vampire was sure that her brother was somewhere near, but she couldn't pinpoint an exact location. Oh, how she longed to speak with him.
Was that...a voice she heard?
Curiosity naturally got the best of her and Melena wandered down the corridor with a slight skip in her step. A visitor perhaps? Someone of importance? The thought of possibly befriending a stranger seemed to excite the child with some type of unearthly desire. She was surprisingly very fond of people, despite her shy nature and was became rather bold after a while. The Grand Staircase was approaching up ahead down into the parlor where the guest would surely be waiting. It sounded as if the maids were making a bit of a commotion over this mysterious being; surely she would get some type of entertainment out of this!
As she reached the top step, Melena halted in her skipping. Eyeing the man around the corner, she seemed a bit reluctant in going down yet his presence seemed to draw her to him. He really was quite intriguing and with the slightly sheltered, not to mention protective life that Melena was leading, she couldn't help but allow her curiosity to control her. Stepping down the first four steps carefully as not to stumbled, the young girl continued to watch him. Was he older than Angelus was? Eight...Nine...Ten. Was he a friend of Angelus'? Thirteen...Fourteen...Fifteen. Did he know Miss Gabrielle? Nineteen...Twenty...
Her dainty feet landed on the marbled tile as she shuffled forward towards the stranger. Melena came to a complete stop, roughly two feet in front of the man. Cocking her head to the side slightly, her chestnut tresses swayed with her and her large eyes remained unblinkly. Her emerald dress settled into place as she locked her hands behind her back. Childishly as ever, Melena began to slowly rock back and forth upon the heels of her slippers. A shy smile tugged at her lips which almost seemed to like up her porcelain face. Questions were flooding her brain.
"Are you here to see my father...? Angelus for you, that is. Or are you a friend of Miss Gabrielle's? She's such a nice lady -- my friend too!" There was a hidden excitement behind the quiet timidness of Melena's voice as she lifted her head to look up into the face of the man. He was far taller than she was and the younger vampire felt quite...insignificant in this man's presence. Oh, but despite that, she had finally addressed Angelus by 'father' although not directly to his face. However, Melena had found the need to specify, just incase she confused the man. "My name is Melena..." She added softly. Such an angel and so friendly, though perhaps too much for her own good sometime.
"I can go and get my father if you'd like me to, I highly doubt he'd keep you waiting purposely." There was a sudden maturity to her words, but the childish voice of hers remained. It instantaneously made her frown. She had surprised herself for not once had she spoken like so. 'Strange...' She thought to herself as a churning sensation began in the pit of her stomach. Suddenly snapping back to the present, Melena stopped rocking on her heels as the timid smile remained. She would wait for a reply.

MEGaladon_ . . . IT gains more than it gives ~ and then it [R]-i-[E] with the FALL... Winter - the coldest season when people bundled up and complained about the bitter wind chill or the below freezing temperatures. How was it any different that any other season? Spring had a nasty tendency of having schizophrenic weather that could change every week, sometimes every day. One minute you'd have warmth and sunshine, the next you'd have gray skies with snow flurries. Summer could be the same way. The temperatures could drop at night and thunderstorms could roll in with their ghastly winds, and pounding rain. Autumn was the lead-in to Winter, when the temperatures began to chill and sometimes the first snowfall would come by early November.
She had been born in this glorious season - in December to be exact. So many complained about the cold weather, but she found it rather delightful. She preferred cloudy days with a significant lack of sunshine. It was best when there was a good rain shower or icy blizzard. It annoyed her to no end when people always complained about how cold it was. Personally, she didn't care if someone was getting frost bite - they invented gloves for a reason. She, however, often obtained strange stares or sometimes people actually pointed fingers. How kind of them - apparently their parents had not the decency to teach them manners as children. It made her want to make one of those random manhole's in the street come to life and swallow them up; then they'd be in the sewers where they belonged.
Aspen Saae thoroughly enjoyed the cold weather. She loved the rain, the snow, and the days when no sunshine could escape through the thick barriers of dark clouds. On the 'miserable' days, the sun could not attack her sensitive and pale skin. It was often better that way. Since the cold weather didn't bother her, she didn't have to layer her clothing on. All it took was the simple wish to be a bit warmer and it came true. Well, she wasn't called the Wishmaster for nothing. Aspen stood there on the street clad in a white dress that reached her knees and matching flats, plus the black peacoat she was wearing over it. Her red hair was tied back with a white bow and there was something distinctive about her appearance. It wasn't the fact that she looked like a twelve year old child. It wasn't the bunny that kept poking its head out of her pocket. No -
It was that black, polka dot umbrella. A pale hand clutched the silver handle tightly as the girl held it over her head and shoulders. It wasn't raining, it was snowing - quite peculiar to see someone with an umbrella. Aspen always carried one with her though, and it typically matched her ensemble in some strange fashion. By the way Aspen dressed, she did not look like an eighteen year old, and since she was so short? Well, people often mistook her for a lost child. While she found it somewhat amusing, it could also get rather annoying; especially if she was teased for being so short. She'd love to tell someone where she'd shove her umbrella if they didn't back off and get a new hobby.
Regardless of her occasional smart-mouth and prissy attitude, Aspen had a childish mindset. What, after being home-schooled her entire life and never actually being in the real world, she needed some guidance! Which was where he came in, and which was the reason that she was waiting as patiently as possible. Her lower lip was jutted out into a pout as she absent-mindedly scuffed the heel of her shoe on the sidewalk. While her companion was not late - yet - she hated waiting for people. Then again, this would be the best time to be practicing to be more patient; she definitely needed that. However, when it came to getting her strawberry ice cream? There was no such thing as being patient.
Aspen's left hand was in her left pocket and she was gently stroking the fur of her pet rabbit, Sephora. Typically the creature was a stuffed animal, but whenever Aspen so desired, she would bring Sephora to life so she could have a pet to cuddle with. Sephora always stayed little, so she was easy to tote around. A grin curled onto her lips when she felt the rabbit nibble the pad of her finger; if there was one thing she loved - besides ice cream and umbrellas - it was animals. Her collection of stuffed animals was like none other. She had bears, cats, puppies, rabbits, even moose! And at any moment she could bring it to life. It delighted her little heart. In the meantime though? Aspen was growing a bit fidgety and her grip on her umbrella grew tighter. She wanted that ice cream.[C][h] boundless pleasure + we've no time for [L][A][t][E][R] noW . . . ~ [M][R][E][L][L][A]
