((The personality i tried towork out is her hate twoards most beings of her own race, not so much so twoards darker lesseres, though she does still see them as being benath her, and all that mixed with a little touch of insanity that causes her toactabit strange and crazy stuff sometimes.))

A somewhat small Kalona mare stood within the darkness of the trees her blazing eyes narrowed to dangerous slits. She was watching the world go by with an anger that pulsed in waves from the very core of her body; she loathed what she saw in the bright summer’s day. Life, joy, harmony, and the worst of all love surrounded her and grated on very thin nerves. Whipping around like greased lightning she kicked out at a tree revealing in the sound of her sharp hoof piercing the bark.

With a satisfied flick of her tail Shade moved forward lowering her head till her neck was parallel to the ground and letting her shoulders hunch slightly. Maybe she wasn’t the most ferocious looking Kalona with the bright sparkles that dotted her body and the occasional casual attitude towards the lesser but when pushed too far to fast Shade could go quiet berserk.

For seemingly no reason Shade suddenly threw back her head and cackled in delight, her heavy German accent made her voice thick and sometimes hard to understand when she spoke.

He was caught in between foalhood and adult; lingering in the awkward stages. His body was growing but it had not yet grown enough that he was ready for everything that he knew was coming. Times were changing and soon a storm would rattle through his little 'family'; a storm that his brother would start.

He landed carefully, flexing the feathers of his pale wings before drawing them close to his body, hiding the marking he'd been born with on his side. He made his way towards the shade of the trees. The sun had become far too much for his liking... It was too warm and he longed for coolness.

(( So far the only comment I have is on the accent. I've always been a bit confuzzled by the idea of Soquili (save for possibly the New World ones) having heavy accents. XD; ))

((MY OC she is based off of, she isnt the complete likeness of NightShade but she stays pretty close, is Germanso thats why I use the accent. But I don't try to type it sothat it sounds German*would utterly fail if she did*))

Shade tossed her mane and stamped the ground with a fore hoof and actually began speaking to herself “how can the world be so over run by fools.” She turned to stare up at the sun “disgusting orb, all you accomplish is bringing hope to the weak and unworthy.” She bared her fangs at it until the softest rustle of wings and thud of hooves drew her attention away from her musing.

Shade’s ears lay flat down as if attached to the very back of her skull, the slapped her tail against a tree to alert the intruder of her presence and to see if they would run. If this creature was of better blood they’d stay and face the beast but those of lesser blood tended, in her mind, to turn tail and run. With eyes blazing like an inferno from hell she turned to stare in the direction she’d heard the rustling.

Noise or not, he had no intention of leaving the shade. He was comfortable and quiet convinced that whatever might be milling about was no match for him. He had learned much from his father's care... No, it hadn't been care. It had been training and abuse that he had learned from and, in doing so, he had become stronger.

His ears flickered, attempting to judge the direction that the noises were coming from so that he would be well ready for whatever might come at him. He tossed his head, black and magenta curls bouncing against his neck before falling still. He could wait here all day if need be... He'd eaten well earlier and the cool air beneath the tree was just what he needed.

(( Unless you think it's necissary as a part of the Soquili version of Nightshade, I'd consider dropping any mention of the accent. Accents, implied through words or typed out, shouldn't be what makes a character. For instance, my Aziraphale is based off of a book character who is 'British'. He doesn't have an accent at all because, when it all boils down, I know that's not what makes him who he is. ))

((It's a part of her, but at the same time i guess it's soemthing she doesn't need to portray her all the time.))

Shade's mouth stretched wide in a sadistic grin, they hadn't run that was good atleast they were of better blood than most of the pathetic lesser breeds. With a toss of her mane she strode forward to meet this creature who'd come into what she saw as her home. Her shoulders had hunched again but she didn't try to portary the typical snareling growling gnashin teeth of her idiotic breathrin, if it was a lesser she wanted it to think she was easy to approach.

As she neared him she got alittle confused by his appearence, he had a unicorns's horn, although she too had that, and the wings of a wind yet he had the sharp hooves and fnags of a kalona and he smelled more like one with an almost sickningly sweet overtone. He was definatly a mixed breed, though she knew better than to underestimate any child from the blood of a kalona.

She herself looked like a mixed breed because of the blody twin horns that pushed out form her fore head.

She eyed him for a long moment scrutinizing him, finally a low rumbeled growl echoed from her throat. It was too threatning for she wasn't stupided enough to flat out attack a stallion she didn't know. "Greetings boy, what brings you to my neck of the woods?" that was the most she felt like saying at the moment.

"..." His brow lofted slightly as he turned his head towards the mare. He said nothing for a moment as he eyed her cautiously. He wasn't afraid of her... But he knew better than to underestimate things. Lessons like that were learned in time. He would underestimate this mare no more than he would his sister... Or his mother.

Finally he spoke, voice sounding stronger than that of a child but still not enough to mark him as an adult. "Boy? Do you always greet others in such a way. I am no more a boy than you are a little girl. I see no name on these woods... This area has not been marked nor claimed. I have a right to be here just as much as you do."

Ah, good answer he was of stronger blood than his appearance might let on, his voice spoke of stallion hood but he had the appearance of a younger stallion, maybe she was wrong and he was one of those that didn't age much. She kept watching him for a moment her grin only stretching wider "Your of strong blood, to bad there aren't more like you out there." It truly was a disgusting thing how some of her breed acted sometimes.

"The world as it is could not handle more tha one of me." He smirked, holding his head high, eyes still fixed on the mare. He had learned from birth to remain cautious... He would not let his guard down now; not in front of this mare whose grin was slightly unsettling.

She nodded thoughtfully for a moment then chuckled "I doubt this world can truly handle much of anything as it's so over run by foolishness and idiocy." Her tail flicked lightly in annoyance at the though of all the lessors that crowded the world with their vows of love, kindness, and caring. Bah! Fools they'd all learn their place soon enough if she had anything to say about it.

She turned her glowing orbs back to Taint and eyed him again for a moment studying every inch of his body carefully. Other than the sweet scent that seemed to cling to his very being, it was sickening but she had no doubt it would make a good hunting tool.

Shade lifted her head at feeling the slightest pangs of hunger, "have you had the pleasure of hunting recently?" It was indeed sometiems an advantige to hunt with another and pick up on tactics one didn't know before.

Shade still had that insane smile on her face but she seemed calmer and more normal at the moment, though how long that would last who knew.

Hunting. It was not something that he himself did often. As much as his body craved meat on the rare occassion, he despised the thought of he gruesome mess created by a panicked prey. Hunting was not a sport that he enjoyed taking part in... Luring, on the other hand, was a different story.

"No, I haven't... Nor do I have any intentions to do so any time soon. Bloodsport is so... Messy." He smirked, giving his head a light toss.

Not a hunter? Well that was truly a fault but she wasn't being too picky today he was at least close enough to a true kalona to harbor at least some civility out of the dark mare.

"A shame, truly that some make hunting to be such a disgusting sport, I do find when done right it's enjoyable. I must agree though, it can be messy. I prefer to stalk my prey or run them down till they have no fight left in them, it's much cleaner." She didn't like to get bloody as well, the only part of her body that showed any stains were her horns, and she'd earned that curse as a foal.

For now at least she would have to slate her hunger, it wasn't a comforting idea but she was willing to do it to have some slightly intelligent conversation with one nearer to her rank.

"When done right, yes... But it is rarely done right and most prefer to make it known that they revel in the death and, through that death, the blood." His nose wrinkled as he shook his head. He had seen enough from his sire; the rot of flesh, the stench of blood unwashed. It was disgusting and he would not be a part of it.

"Ah, I must say I do revel in the death in blood while in the thrill of the moment but after that I have to wash it off. The only things upon me that seem to bear that mark are my horns." Her eyes turned up as if trying to look at the silvery tines that jutted from her forehead and she let out a snort then her mouth twisted into another insane grin and she laughed. "I guess ever creature whom is a murderer has to have their mark of being such," the blood went farther back than that but that was a story she'd never reveal to any living soul.

"One can take lives without looking like something from a tale of terror..." A slight smirk curved his lips as he tilted his head towards the kalona mare. "I take lives... Would you care to guess at how many have fallen to my fangs?"
