.: Alone :.
A dark stallion grazed quietly at the edge of the valley. His ebony mare caressing his charcoal pelt as he bent down to take a bite of the sweet spring grass. His long braided tail flicked against the downy grasses as his head lifted to the sky. His crystal blue eyes looked up with longing at the stars. That cold blanket that wrapped around the world he knew. He was torn, his mind and heart pulling him in differnt directions along his lifelong path. His mind told him he would have to leave the valley come fall and find somewhere safe for the winter, Yet his heart told him he belonged here. Ever since he was alone in the world, since his days as a colt, he had longed to find his place in the world. He had always been alone, save for the lone two legger who had befriended him long ago. The braids in his hair where in memory to that time long ago.
The stars glittered, reflected in his deep blue eyes. faucets of light in the cloak of the night goddess, the full moon her glittering boach whos silver rays caressed his charcoal pet. Waya was lost... his heart ached, his body ached... the stallion was tired of his hard life of solitude.
His moods had shifted, bouncing up and down in ways that were bound to drive him made if he didn't find his happy medium sooner than later. There were so many things that were fighting for a place in his mind... But he didn't want to think. No, he wanted to stand there and stare off into space for as long as he possibly could, loosing himself in the vast empty that was the shimmering midnight sky.
When finally his gaze was torn from the sky he move, allowing his slow gait to carry him through the grasses. It was past the time when he should be making a bed for himself... All he wanted... All he truly wished for... Was sleep deep enough to dash the thoughts of nights passed from his mind so that he could dream of... More pleasant creatures.
A sound to his left tore his attention from the glittering sky. A stallion slowly made his way through the tall grasses towards him. His coat was that of the night sky, black and blue yet his mane and eyes spoke of a demon locked inside such a body. A Force to be weary of, yet apperances could be deciveing, and so he nodded his head braids falling in front of his eyes as he nodded to the stranger. The great black stallion was silent as the night as the stranger approched. Finally he spoke. "greetings." said his deep baritone voice, and then all was silent again. His tail whisked the ground as his gaze once again found the comfort of the stars.
"Evenin'..." His voice was as dark as his coloration, ember eyes dim as if the fire within were close to extinguishing. It wasn't, of course. He would never be beaten... Never be broken... But even the wind had days where it seemed defeated; barely blowing hard enough to rustle blades of grass let alone move the trees' branches.
He found himself wishing that this stallion was a mare... Not necissarily his petite chere, but any mare whom he could have forced a smile for; made small-talk with. There were only so many pet names that one could call a stallion... And he had a feeling that most of them would get his hindquarters kicked from one side of the contenent to the next should he try any 'cute stuff'.
Waya quietly nodded his head to the other dark stallion whos mane looked as alive and changing as flame itself. "What brings you out here?" he asked at length having finally droped his gaze from the sky. The strained look on this stallions face rather matched his own, he could feel the tenceness in his muscels. The unseen burdon on his shoulders. Yes, this one before him was also dealing with some inner turmoil, and he wouldnt press to ask him what. Not only to be nice, but because he didnt care. The stallions buisness was his own, and he wasnt going to pass judgment on him.
His long tail flicked again, as it had a habit of doing. The dew on the grass sprayed behind him in the silver rays of the moon. The night was still like a calm before a storm. There was an un-ease in the air that made waya quite uncofortable, and he wondered if this stallion felt that too.
"Da thought dat dis grass might make a comfortable bed... Dat, perhaps, I can sleep under da stars an' wake up to da warmth o' da sun..." Since his insistance on parting from the petite chere had already decided for him that he would not wake up to any other sort of warmth. "An' you? Why da' long face?"
The dark stallion tilted his head to the side and glanced around. This didnt look like a likely spot for a bed, It was too open for his tastes, but perhaps that was just because he was overly protective. He nodded his head slowly. "I see." He said after a moment. The last comment from the stranger made him blink in surprise. "Long Face? what do you mean?" he quirked a brow trying to figure out of the stallion ment he had a disfigurement, or some other turn of phrase.
"I mean... Why you look like I feel?" His brow raised slightly as he contemplated flopping down right there into the ground. He was about to... Only a few steps away from actually doing it. "You don' have to tell me, 'course. Bu'if you don'... I likely to sleep." Dark lids closed over his eyes, darkening his face for a moment as he did so.
Waya quirked a brow at the stranger and nodded. "Then lay down. I wont keep you awake." He knelt down in the grass himself, his gaze transfixed on the sky. "I'm just dealing with some things...as im sure you are." he said after a moment knowing by the sound of his breathing that the stranger was still awake. "By the way... Im Waya." he said after a moment.
He knelt as the other stallion did, making himself comfortable against the grasses. If it weren't for the conversation he would've sprawled out onto his side, stretching out and taking up as much space as he possibly could. "Mah pleasure, Waya... I Remy." He nodded slowly, opening his eyes to glance at the dark male before letting them close once more. "Jus'... Thinkin' too much. Dangerous ta do so, you know. D'ey say... You think too much it make you crazeh."
"Perhaps thats So... I certainly feel crazy." he said witha light snort and a shake of his head. With a sigh he looked at the sky, maybe he should stop thinking and try and let his mind clear. Anything at this point to life the blanket of depression that had draped over him. Maybe sleep, sleepless as it was, would help as well.
"Best cure for da crazeh is ta sleep..." He nodded slowly, feeling his head drop lower as he did so. "Jus'... Make sure you sleep wit'ha clear head... Not do you any good if you dream of clashin' colors an' high spirits..." Soon after saying that the stallion would fall into sleep, making a soft sound as his breath was expelled before drawing the next in. Perhaps, just perhaps, he should have heeded his own advice.

.: Think twice... :.
(( What started as 'ooc banter' turned into something else when someone dragged it IC... These are the results... ))
Vibrant laughs again "The boy's got a big mouth to match the ego bigger than he can manage." Slaps his tail against the sides of his rump, rolls his eyes at Remy "good lord ...i have to give it to him ...he's stupider than Cal over there...some needs to give the dynamic duo trohpies."
"... You know what they say 'bout Soq's cover'd in glittah, right? Tryin' to compensate for somethin'..." He nickered, stomping his hoof. "Jus' jealous 'cause I got da mare, Twinkles."
Snorts "She wasn't much of a looker, actually down right hidious, so i don't care that ya got the mare boy," rolls his eyes again "Ya'll all act as though you got something to prove to someone" starts pulling a Dewegi and prances around "Look at me the 'big bad stallion' i'm all brawn and no brains, i think i'm hot when really I'm not."
His eyes gleamed a deep red as he stared at the stallion. "Now you listen here, Twinkles... I dun think you understand... No one, an' I say no one disrespects da lady. She may na' be what you lookin' for... But she prettier than you ever be. Apologize 'fore I make you sorreh."
Snorts "Come on boy i dare you to try," He reared up batting the airwith his bloody looking hooves. "You don't look that strong anyway kid," his muscles tightened and rippled through his body.
He stomped at the ground, pulling up a clod of dirt with one of his own crimson hooves, eyes narrowing in a way that was anything but nice. "Boy, eh? You dun' scare Remy, Twinkles. Dun' scare Remy a't'all. What... No one evah teach you ta treat da ladies wit respect?" He reared up as well, showing that two could battle the air... Just as two could easily race with it. "Take it back."
Vibrant's sparkling coat had dulled and darkened once more and he let out a feral growl. "Like you scare me either there kid," His lough rumbled form his very gut "Oh yes i was taught to respect mares... the mares that earned respect " He gnashed his teeth and laid his ears flat at Remy.
He wasn't intimidated by the 'color-changing' coat. If anything, he didn't even notice the difference as it was not the other stallion's (if one could even call something as low as that a stallion) coat that his eyes were on. No... It was his eyes. His own glowing embers remained locked on the eyes of 'Twinkles'.
His nostrils flared as he stomped at the ground once more in annoyance, tail whipping back and forth against his hindquarters, dancing like an angry flame. "She did not'in' to you an' you disrespect her. Remy oldah than you, Sparkeh. He show you what happens to fools who insult da wrong ladehs."
"It's a pleasure to meet you deary and indeed I'm Vibrant...or as these two are calling me sparkles or twinkles." His tri-colored tail swished back and forth across his hunches. He was practically ignoring Remy and Cal now, they weren't worth him talking too.
He snorted once more, not the one to be ignored... Especially not by one who'd just been challenged for insulting a mare. He pawed at the ground, rearing up once more while letting out fierce whinney. Once his hooves touched the ground he charged at Vibe, intent on taking him down.
Vib saw him cing and leaped forward standing as still as a marbel statue his ears were flat against the back of his head. The stallion didn't move to intercept Remy but stood there as if his legs were steel pillers drille ditno the ground, his eyes glistning "Back off boy... stop being jealous cause you didn't get the mare's attention." His voice was cool and he stayed in control of his emmotions.
He didn't listen to the words uttered by the eyesore. No, those words meant nothing because he knew... knew... That Vibrant had no idea as to what he was talking about. This was not jealousy. This was protection... Honor. Even scoundrels and rogues knew well that there were certain things that were never said of ladies, especially if they were untrue.
Vibrant didn't move. Good. He hadn't wanted him to move. No, standing as he was, he could easily barrel into the other male. Male. He refused to refer to that tack piece of horseflesh as a stallion because he'd done nothing to deserve the title. He let out a shrill screech as he attacked the colorful one... He'd better put up a good fight.
Vib let out another unhorselike roat inherited from his parents as he ducked low right as remy reached and suddenly came up slamming his body into the other stallions head and jaw.
He reared once more over Remy his eyes glowing with hatred for this disgusting pile of dung. He bared his teeth again once mroe wishing he'd had his parents fnags, but that didn't matter his teeth and hooves could still take care of remy o ntheir own.
Degewi had had enough of this and not caring for himself he galloped between the two stallions and let out a roar of a whinny waiting for the pounding before he would speak.
That glittery toad was lucky to have missed Remy's head... Or maybe it was Remy's luck. He reared up, letting loose another cry as he prepared to slash his hooves at the pathetic excuse for a stallion... Ceasing his actions rather than harm someone who played no foul in this game. His eyes narrowed as his hooves hit the ground, snorting with great distaste.
Faster than he'd ever moved before (thanks to the added push of his great wings) Calamity jumped to aid Degewi in case the stallions would not stop. He knew he would hold his own, but he stood there regardless, rearing back on his mighty hind legs and letting loose a powerful neigh that echoed more like a roar in the woods. He stamped back down hard, newly aware of his immense size.
Vib froze and came down with a thud when Degewi jumped in the way, and for respect of the stallion Vibrant stood proudly "I refuse to fight a sensless battle." He let out a disgusted snort but he didn't leave Degewi there alone with Remy for who knew what that psychotic stallion would do.
He snorted at Cal's roar and never even turned to agknowledge the kalona's presence but kept his eyes squarely on Remy and Degewi.
Degewi's ears twiched at the sound of Calamity comming to his aid. "Cal?" he couldnt help, but say shocked by calamity's actions.
He bared his teeth at Vibrant, wishing that the large stallion hadn't stepped in. Someone needed to teach that glittering blemish on the face of the earth mother a lesson... And he would pray to the great spirits that, someday, he'd get his chance.
Calamity snorted and gave a little grunt in the affirmative to Degewi. He spread wide his wings, hoping to push the warring stallions a bit father away from each other. "This is over. Both of you leave. Your points have been thoroughly made."
He puffed himself up a little more and sneered, wondering why the hell he was involving himself. Degewi could manage this more than capably.
"Remy's leavin'... Dun want ta breathe same air with scum any longeh..." He snorted, nostrils flaring once more as he stepped back. He made sure that he was a good foot or so beyond the reach of the stallions who seemed insistent on keeping him seperated from the colt before turning back, eyes gleaming as he spoke one final warning before trotting off. "Don' let me evah hear you disrespectin' mah chere again... Or any otha chere... I hear... You goin' down."
