What a life this had all turned out to be for the stallion. It had all gone down hill in the blink of an eye. Where once there were glimmers of light there seemed to be only a few flickering points that kept him going. Normally Yiska was never in this state of mind, but after risking the life of another just to please that person well....he just wasn't sure.

He hadn't returned home after that day. A day that had burned an impression in his mind that could last a lifetime. It made him feel foolish for being so careless, but all he wanted to do was make her happy. To keep her entertained like she had demanded him to in her own little bitchy ways. But it had failed miserably. If only that monster had stayed away on that day, then perhaps things would be different.

And then he had made her cry. It was a knife to the heart to hear her cry and her hateful words were like salt rubbed deeply into wounds. His one and only 'friend', if you could call her that, wished that he had died. And that only added onto the misery.

Now, he just wandered aimlessly up and down the river banks. The sun beating down upon his dark coat as his hooves fell heavy against the soft sandy banks. With a exhausted sigh, he finally stopped and layed down. Laying his head onto the ground and closing his eyes. Yiska figured, trying too hard to please anyone now seemed like a total waste of time. No one would ever be happy by anything he did.

Thoughts seemed to soar through her mind faster than she could think, almost giving her a headache. Why can't I find him?! She wanted to shout. Scream. But she wouldn't. In her mind she would. She's cry. She's scream. She'd squeel. She'd keep everything to herself... everything except irritation, admiration, and sometimes hesitation. Though sometimes... a smile, could find it's way onto the mare's maw.

Where are you, dammit? Alenazsa let out a slight snort. Why couldn't she find him?! Where was her brother? The mare fallowed the snort with a slight sigh. "Is it so hard to find a single male,..." Her gaze had yet to even notice the other stallion, laying himself by the bank. She wasn't very far off, perhaps about seven yards away. But still, she was much to focused on.. other things. Namely, her brother.

A warm breeze ruffled her mane slightly, wrapping it loosely around her, and she had to turn her head away from the direction of the breeze, so her hair wouldn't be blown right into her eyes. That's when she finaly noticed the other Soquili by the river. Dark coated like herself, though with a lighter head, and green, criss-cross markings running up his legs, and a few swirls on his rump.

Alenazsa cocked an eyebrow, watching him as he layed there. What is he doing? Even the tone in her thoughts didn't sound too much like they cared, but she was trying to distract herself from thoughts of her brother,... by almost any means at the moment.

Yiska's eyes opened half way as the sound of nearby hoof beats were caught by his ears. It seemed perhaps that his lonesome wandering might be ended. But then again, who would want to talk to one as crushed as him. His head hadn't even lifted upwards to see who it was. The stallion felt more like it was his place on the ground and in the dirt.

His curly tail gave a few futile flops, causing a few leaves and bits of dust to rise into the air before they settled back down. Giving the water nearby a uncaring glance, he watched as it bubbled and raced past him. Little silver fish flitted back and forth from the shore as they gazed at him with beady black eyes and gasping mouths.

What would his family think of him now? In his state? What would they think of him putting someone in danger all for the sake of trying to make another happy? Yiska didn't really feel like finding that out. Perhaps he wouldn't even return home to his parents and siblings. His eyes squeezed shut as horrible thoughts raced through his mind.

She had to say something...

"You don't look so good." her tone was dull, but,... it held a hint of caring,... For once. She wasn't heartless, just always,.. distracted, her emotions uneven. She rarely knew what to think,... what emotion to feel. Emotionaly Confused described her best...
Alenazsa made her way over slowly, stopping barely two feet away from the male. She looked him over. He looked in good condition, though tired, weak, hungry,... as if he were giving up.

She bent her knees slightly, bending down a little, trying to catch his gaze if she could. After a moment, she pushed herself up straight again, ears twitching in this direction to that, listening to the slightest of sounds.

Light green eyes opened slightly, looking at the mare as she bent down then closed again as she had stood up again. "You wouldn't look too good after what I've been through either."

So the sounds he heard belonged to this mare then. At least she hadn't treated him like Tiffany had when they first met. The first thing that mare would say would be more of an insult than anything. Though he did pick up on the hint of the caring tone in her voice.

For the moment, he was kind of glad this mare had come around. Yiska was never one who had a taste for being on his own for very long. Giving a soft sigh, he lifted himself to his hooves. His tail brushing the dirt from his backside off, though he kept his head down so that his mane covered his white face. Eyes watching the ground beneath him with little interest.

Well about time...
"That's better..." she glanced him over again, and smiled so lightly. Alenazsa's words then pondered over his. "Oh?" She blinked once. Her gaze lessened by quite a good bit, and her muscles relaxed. She took a short step back, giving the stallion alittle more space,... but also to get a better look of him.

"What has happened to you then,..." She paused. What was his name anyway? She'd worry about that later,... if he continued to talk to her, that is.
The mare's tail flicked once behind her. She turned her head quickly, knocking her bangs away from her eyes, only to have them fall back in place when she stopped shaking her head.

His lips twisted into a slight grimace, but he knew that she would question his answer anyway. "I put someone's life at risk for the sake of making them happy. And now I'm sure she'll never forgive me and be my friend again. Though...I'm not really sure you could call it a friendship. She considered me more of a slave to do her bidding than anything else. The title of friend only came after the incident which ended...badly." The words still echoed in his mind.

"To the point where she wished I had been killed even..." This mare might think him a beast now. He wanted to ramble on about how he tried so hard and yet it failed. How he put his own life on the line only to have it spat back in his face. But he held it back. She didn't near to hear it.
PostPosted: Tue May 22, 2007 9:01 am

"Hmmn..." she was trying to figure out how the hell he could put one's life at risk while trying to please them. She shrugged. "And you're mourning over something like this? If she treated you as a slave, she's not a friend, and if she wants you dead, then fine. You leave her, and to her, you will be. That's it,... it's over." She was sooo much help. Not.

She noticed her rough answer fairly quickly. Her tone softened slightly. She stepped forward, then lifted her head, then nosed his forehead softly, trying to get him to raise his head, and look away from the ground. She stepped back afterwards. Alenazsa thought for a moment. "Something is telling me theres more to your story though,.. go on." She had nothing else to do. Listening to one's sad story would give her something to do.

Actually,.. she was interested. Her thoughts had completely abanden her brother for now, and were locked on this male. Already she was trying to make up unmentioned parts of the story in her mind, though still wanting to hear the truth.

"I realize that. But I had really hoped that perhaps she would change and we would be friends. It seems I was wrong." Her noseing his forehead was a bit of a surprise and took him aback a bit. Lifting his head a bit, he looked at her through the curls that still covered his face slightly.

His ears perked a bit before they relaxed, a bit more back than normal but they weren't against his head. "There...really isn't much more to it. I mean. She was pretty bossy. Had me doing all kinds of crazy things and if she got the least bit dirty she'd have a caniption fit and start yelling. I kind of have a problem around mares, but I think she kind of snapped me out of it really. So I suppose that's the only good thing that's come of it."

Taking a small breath, he decided to go into a bit of detail. "She had grown bored and told me to find something for her to do to keep her entertained. So, I took her to a flower field nearby that I knew of. But also, I knew there was a Kalona that lived nearby and he is one that is kill and eat first ask no questions later. I had hoped he wouldn't appear and be off hunting, but he did and he chased us. Unfortunatly, we had become seperated and she was cornered by the Kalona. After I had back tracked a bit, I found them and incapacitated him for the moment and we escaped. After that she accused me of abandoning her and well..you know I guess."

Alenazsa listened carefully,... every word, every stressed second. "So you took a chance, and you blew it,..." Still not very helpful.
She then pondered. "But if this mare is saying you only put her in danger than ran, and yet you had tried to save her, it is her own fault. She is believing what she wants to believe, and nothing else. Anyone like that is a weak minded fool, if you ask me." She almost grinned.

She pat her hoof on the ground, flattening the grass. "So now,.. please don't tell me you only plan on laying down and mourning over her,... hmmn?" She then did grin. If this male said that that was exactly his plan,.. she'd walk off. If he smartened up... Maybe she'd stick around for awile.

((Hehe. S'ok. ))

Yiska's ears flicked back for a second at her words. "I guess...." What this mare said made sense though. Tiffany did think that only her opinion mattered. That she was the greatest thing in the world. He had seen it at the beginning but really had put hope into perhaps she would change. Which wasn't the case it seemed.

"No. I don't plan on laying down and mourning over her. I suppose it's just a case of the coming and going Soquili. One goes and more come along." His eyebrows furrowed slightly as he thought about it. "I'm just....going to not try as hard as I did to please anyone or make them happy as I did. It just seems to only blow up in my face." Even though Yiska was an adult, he was still a young one and had much to learn about the world and how it functioned. How every Soquili wasn't as plesant as the next. He'd never dealt with one such as her, so suppose that was his downfall. And he would learn if the situation ever arose again.

She nodded her head. "See... you're not so stupid afterall... you know now when to move on." Alenazsa chuckled softly. "Anyway,..." Her words trailed off slightly. "My name is Alenazsa,... Alena, for short. I havn't caught your name yet,..." She shifted her weight from hoof to hoof, tail flicking behind her ocasionaly. Every now and then, there was a light click, as her metal anklet touched her thick hoof.

This Stallion had indeed been through alot. And he obviously didn't want to be alone. Truely, Alenazsa didn't either. She had to search for her brotheer... There were the thoughts again. Her mind took the picture of her brother in her head, and she let out a deep sigh, her head dipping slightly. Where was he? She had let herself get distracted all too easily,.. all too quickly.

"I'm glad then. All I ever got called was stupid when I was around her." Smiling a bit, he bowed his head. As he was taught by his father to do during introductions. "Alenazsa. Interesting name. Mine is Yiska." He had lifted his head up more now that they had changed topics and he had gotten this off his chest.

In his mind, it really did seem quite silly. Though, he could understand how he had gotten under the other mare's hoof so easily. Yiska was a push over when it came to most mares, but as he had stated before. It seemed he had grown out of that phase, even if it took some abuse to snap him out of it. "I'm surprised you'd be wandering about around here. Not many Soquili really come through this part."

She smiled dimly.. not one for large, true smiles. "Thankyou,... and Yiska, your name is quite nice as well." she nodded her head, then pondered over his question for a long moment. Might as well just now let out her own story.

"I'm out here, searching for my brother... in hopes of finding him. When he was young, my brother was shunned from my home, banished practicly, because of his apperence,... which really wasn't bad at all. But now,... I plan to find him,... I really don't even know if he's here.. but,.. that won't stop me from searching." Her words trailed for a moment. "But, I also have to keep in mind... Even if he isn't here,.. I have to stay here. I can't leave even if I wanted to,... I'm stuck with Sequoia." She breathed a slight laugh at that.

It seemed almost like it had been a long time since anyone had complimented him. Even if it was just his name.

His ears moved forward as he listened to her little tail. A curious eyebrow raised. "What did he look like that made him be banished? I don't quite understand why someone would banish another from their home because of their looks...." Yiska's thought trailed off into his mind. It must of been hard being on your own without family when young. He himself had always had his family around while growing up. "It's good that you plan to keep searching. He might probably want to be found and re-unite with you. I know I would wish the same with my own siblings."

Yiska tilted his head a bit as she mentioned the name Sequoia. "Who is Sequoia? Is she a two-legger? My mother has one that she visits sometimes but I've never actually met her myself. Nor have I really met a two-legger at all." In truth, the two-leggers interested him to no extent. They were curious creatures, what with walking on two legs and just looking totally out of the ordinary.
