Hmm. Unless yesterday was a dream, I thought I posted this already, but oh well mrgreen OK, here's the deal: because we should meditate on the Lord's word night and day we are going to play a little game. Each person will state the NEXT Commandment and it's meaning untill we get through all ten or get sidetracked in a disussion xd I'll go first!
The First Commandment You shall have no other gods. This means that we should fear, love, and trust in God above all things.
Now someone do the second Commandment!
yay! fun AND learning! whee

The Second Commandment: You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God.
Meaning: We should fear and love God so that we do not curse, swear, use satanic arts, lie, or decieve by his name. But call upon it in every trouble, pray, praise, and give thanks.
yay smile

The Third Commandment:
Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. This means that we should fear and love God so that we do not despise preaching and His Word, but hold it sacred and gladly hear and learn it.

mike_johnson This doesn't answer the question of Saturday or Sunday. ninja ninja It doesn't matter which day of the week you celebrate the Sabbath, because "the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath" The church celebrates on Sunday b/c Christ rose from the dead on a Sunday, the 8th day.

Yes. You're right. But sunday is not the 8th day. It's the 1st. Saturday is the 7th. Monday is seen as the first though, and sunday the 7th because the work week starts on Monday. mrgreen mrgreen

The Fourth Commandment: Honor your father and your mother
Meaning: We should fear and love God so that we do not despise or anger our parents and other authorities, but honor them, serve and obey them, love and cherish them.
