Greetings! I hope the day (morning, eve, or nite) finds you well. 3nodding It has occurred to me that few of us have met in person, and many of us wish to. I want to help facilitate this. So I'm proposing (and striving to organize), a Convention of Modists. I'm looking to have this convention in 2007, that gives us well over a year to plan and sort out the rough bits. I want to know when everyone is available, what we would like to do, and if anyone needs assistance. Ah... I almost forgot... LocationMonterey, California (mostly because that's where I live, and I can make arrangements in person, with hard copies of arrangements) Asilomar Conference Grounds to be specific. They have wonderfull facilities, a lovely atmosphere, and are located right on the beech. Best of all, I can get a discount there... sweatdrop

Currently I've got it narrowed down to Summer 2007.

EventsWhat entertainments shall we indulge in? Thus far, we have the following (tenative)plans: Haunted Tour of Monterey Theatre/Cinema visit (program to come when dates are set) Gaming (RPG) corner. Modist Theatre Presents: (insert short skit of a musical) Iron Chef: Church of Mod Optional events... Sailing. Scuba. Hiking in Big Sur or The Pinnacles.

A ZOMBIE! game.
Basically, half the group are zombies, and half of the group are humans. The humans each have a paintbal marker with 10 shots. The zombies can make more of themselves when they hold onto a human for 3 seconds. you are ONLY allowed ten rounds of ammo at a time, and if you run out, you have to run back to base to get a reload. Zombies are killed with either 5 shots to the torso or one shot in the head.
Saftey equipment is of paramount importance. I've been shot with paintballs more times than i care to remember, and those suckers can raise a welt if you aren't clothed properly.
Will's Zombie game would need a large, semi-wooded area that no one would mind seeing splattered with day-glo paint.
Also, I'd need an imperial a**-ton of faceguards, guns, CO2 tanks, and of course ammo.
Anyone that can supply these things get a cookie. I can supply 2 markers, three if my brother decides to not be an asshat.

I'll check their rates and availablity, I think they should have equipment for rent. 3nodding Kia, you can crash at our place whenever you want... it's not imposing. The same holds true for all of you... it may get crowded, but we love visitors, they taste good with mustard. 3nodding
