I was recently contacted by the Religious Tolerance Guild about a cross-guild project they would like to get started. It is essentially an inter-religious dialogue aimed at education to promote tolerance of other religions across Gaia and, hopefully, in our daily lives too.

You can do as much or as little as you like. I'd love to host cross-guild events, where members of one religion teach in another guild, answering questions. I'd like to hold a council of guild leaders within the alliance where we meet and discuss tolerance and cooperation between religions on Gaia and in real life. Or, at the very least, we can link to each others' guilds.

I know that I am interested in this, and would like this Guild to participate. What do the rest of you think?

I USED to be a member of the religious tolerance guild.. don't know why I'm not anymore.. xD But I totally love the idea. Go for it.

An outsider's perspective on Buddhism from within the guild could make for some interesting teaching, I suppose.

Hey guys! I'm AMOA, the captain of the Religious Tolerance Guild, and coordinator of this Alliance thus far. I figured I'd stop by and keep you guys up to date on what's going on.

There's no events in the works yet... we're still forming, and I'd like to get things settled down before planning a large event. Once the Alliance is well-established, we'll make a place where everyone will get to have their say.

Being that half of us are moderators of the Hinduism guild, I'd say it joined by virtue of us joining, but I won't make that call until it's discussed there.

I'm all for intelligent discourse and actual tolerance.

I hope there's no posturing.

I don't know that we have to worry about even asking in the Hindu guild; until yesterday the most recent post was like... June of last year. I think, unless they get conversation that lures back the actual Hindus that hung out there, the guild's pretty much dead.

Sad really, I so liked watching Oh-Mi go up against people. He was an interesting guy sometimes.

When I read enough to actually learn something about Buddhism I wouldn't mind putting out some sort of presentation based on this idea. 'A non-religious atheist's take on Buddhism' or something of that nature.

...I realize that name sounds ******** pretentious, but it was either that or simply 'atheist' which would have been odd considering that we do have Theravada Buddhists here. sweatdrop

On a different note....why is it that I'm in has to do with virtually every religious belief (okay, that's hyperbole) but NOT in GAU...? >__>
