It had been late afternoon when she'd wandered away from her chance meeting with Nuka after parting ways with her Papa, Rogue and Sedi. It was now sometime after sunset. Hours had passed between then and now and she had aged considerably in that time.
She had paused by the lake to gaze at her reflection for a moment, tilting her head this way and that to see if she looked any different. She didn't. At least, not at first glance and probably not at second either... But she certainly felt different. She felt free... As if she could do anything.
She also felt dirty. Dust had collected on her coat as she'd sprinted through the woods, delighting in the feel of the air moving around her as she embraced her newfound freedom. The air itself still felt warmer than she would have liked it to feel as well, but that was alright. It made the water feel even better as she stepped into it, wading deeper than she did on most nights. She walked through the water, letting the dust and dirt wash away; letting everything wash away. It was a good night... A very good night... And, hopefully, it would only get better.

He was in a rather good mood from meeting the colorful lady. While she could use with some dulling out in the coat department she at least had been a wonderful conversationalist. He hadn't had anyone to have a conversation like that with in too long and welcomed the change. Hopefully he'd be able to find her again next time he was in need of a few good stories to tell.
His tail flicked behind him as he headed back toward the lake and the natives home. He could use with bumming a treat off the two legger to keep his day in good spirits.

After making sure that her coat was glistening once again she paused at the water's edge, taking a sip of the crystal clear water. It felt good washing down her throat, filling her with that amazing feeling of being alive all over again. She reared back, coming down with a triumphant little splash before trotting back towards the woods.
She had expected to have the rest of the night to herself to explore the world in the new light that she was viewing it in but it seemed as if that was not to be. She caught a shadow's movement and, as it came closer, she was able to fill in the form followed by familiar colors. Nuka.
Rather than shout out a greeting as she would have done at any other time she paused, tilting her head just enough so the moonlight would catch on white locks of hair and pale portions of coat to give her an almost radiant appearance. She smiled, waiting for him to come closer and, possibly, notice her before she spoke. "Evenin', Nuka."

He'd picked up the smell of another soquili on the air but hadn't been able to figure out who it was. It wasn't Rogue but it wasn't a stranger either. When he heard the voice call out to him he grinned, so it was the little one.
Turning his head he caught sight of the molted hide of Atsila. "Good evening." It was a little surprised that she hadn't come running up to him like usual. "Taking a break from the over exuberance?" He tilted his head as he stopped so he could focus his attention on her.
She seemed to be holding herself differently than the last few times he'd seen her but he couldn't figure out why exactally. Maybe it was that she looked more like a proper strong lady rather than a newly grown foal.

She moved towards him slowly, tip of her tail brushing against his foreleg as she walked past his side only to slip behind him and eventually wind up on his other side. She flashed him a soft smile, definately seeming different, especially now that she was closer to him. "Non... Jus' takin' a bit'a time to enjoy the night. It's such a beautiful night."
She stepped away from him once more, turning so that she could look at him as she spoke. "What about you? What brings you out an' about tonight, Nuka?"

His brow raised as she walked around him and spoke. She was certainly different from the last time he'd spoken to her. What had she done between then and now?
"That it is.." The night was nice. Just a little crisp but warm enough to make someone want to walk around. "I'm just enjoying my time and the fresh air. Nothing wrong with that is there?"

"Should there be?" Her brow lofted slightly as she nickered softly. "Ah'd hope there wasn't... Since Ah was doin' th'same thing. Everythin' got too quiet by the lake though... Had a nice splash 'round in the water and now Ah think it's time t'find somethin' excitin' t'do. It's too beautiful a night t'be wasted just standin' 'round."

"No but you never know if someone's going to think there is." There had to be people who thought enjoying anything was wrong. "Can't find anything to entertain yourself with? No brothers to annoy or little things to play with?" He'd noticed baskets at the camp but after noticing they were Rogue's he stayed well away.

After finding someone who had finally treated her like an adult it hurt to be standing here next to Nuka who was treating her like a foal. She bristled visibly before appearing calm once more; calm save for fiery eyes that she wouldn't let fall on the stallion again.
She gave her head a light toss, holding it high as mane fluttered back down into place along the side of her neck. She wanted, more than anything, to kick Nuka... But if she threw a fit now she'd just be the foal he still seemed to think she was. "Ah'm sure Ah could find somethin'... Stumbled 'cross you, afterall. Means there has to be somethin' better out there as well."

"Better than old Nuka? Never." He laughed slightly and shook his head to get some of the days dust out of his mane. "All you're going to find around here is your family and me." She could possibly find that other mare but she'd probably run off to go find other people to talk to rather than hanging around here.
He watched her for a moment before he chuckled. "So Atsila .... who'd you meet today?" She had to have spoken to someone else or seen something for this change to have come over her.

"Why, Nuka... Ah believe you jus' said Ah wasn't goin' t'find no one besides you an' my family...If Ah was t'believe that then Ah don't know why you'd go thinkin' Ah'd met anyone." Her tongue could be used for intelligent arguments. There were ways with words other than outbursts and, deep down, she'd always known that beneath her fiery attitude. It was just easier to speak one's mind... Unless one was talking to Nuka.

"I can tell. So trying to protect them or just not want to share with me?" He turned his head so he could see her better. It was almost a little disappointing that she wasn't being her usual fiery self.

"Ah don't have no reason t'be protectin' anyone. Least, not from you. 'Cause, in the end, you're one o' those people Ah'm supposed to be protected from, right?" She nickered softly as she turned her head, inner fire flickering through her eyes as they caught the stallion's. "What's it matter t'you, Nuka?"

"According to your dad that's the case." He laughed again as his tail swished behind him. "What's it matter? Curious maybe? Decide you have better things to do than make idle conversation with me now?"

"Nuka, Ah do believe you're tryin' t'put words into my mouth. Ain't you th'one who said Ah couldn't find nothin' to entertain m'self with... And since when are you interested in makin' idle conversation with me?" She smirked, a bit of her youth slipping through the beautiful adult facade she'd been putting on. She did enjoy Nuka's company when he wasn't insistant on making her feel like she was too young to be standing beside him for any reason, let alone conversation.
