That's right. You see the fancy guitarists with firebirds. BUT THEY MADE A BASS TOO! www.guitarcenter.com Type epiphone bass in the search section. You'll see what I mean. For all you classic axe buffs, go get a firebird, 300$. That's a deal. Sunburst, red, black, and blue. You know ya want one.

I'm pretty sure you mean Thunderbird, and I don't think anyone didn't know they existed, they're actually more prevalent in bass form than guitar.

Yeah, i've personally been lusting after the Gibson model for years. Right next to Fender and Rickenbacker basses, Thunderbirds are the most well-known of all beautiful instruments.

Played one for a good bit.
I got the immediate impression that the appeal is solely in the looks, as I found the tone to be very unmalleable to situations outside of rock, also, the neck was unimpressive and the construction led to obvious issues with neck dive.

Yes we are thinking of it, but hes a little whiney arrogant wank, and he takes everything personally and as an insult yea i might have to sing for the band, cos we might nto be able to find a good enough male singer, (sorry to discriminate but we would prefer an all male group)

I'd say its a mid range bass, its not as well made as the gibson and lacks the neck through body disgine and is not nearly as balenced as the gibson, and doesn't have as nice pickups and all that, but still a nice bass. The thunderbird is one of the best basses ever (The gibson modle at least.) I've played the lovely thing, I felt like a god. But it was a little heavy. About the weight of a mid sized bass drum a little less, but still heavy.

That's what I do. Me on like two or three and the rest of six or seven.

That's what I do. Me on like two or three and the rest of six or seven. pff, our singer goes through my amp, cos i have the Passive/active inputs, i go into active (cos the Jags active) he goes into passive i turn it up to like 10 cos hes got a dodgy mic and thats the only way he can be heard and i have to turn my volume down on the bass or i drown out everyone, (my Haryke 250 packs a mean punch, i usually gig at about 4 or 5, once at a failr large venue i got it up to about a 8 or 9, good enough amp, i want a new head and an 8X10 cab, i'll get the cab first) so anyway, we might be ditching our singer, and i might have to take over... cos i CAN sing... hes not THAT good, i'm a tad better and i'm progressivly getting much better, and i can sing and play easy enough... wooh

I wish I could sing and play, you need a PA system then. I never shair even though my head has like three outs and my speaker has two passive and one active. I never share ALL FOR ME! I stay round 3 or 4 that's good for most venues we play at. I do some back up vocals but our singer has it covered mostly.

singing and playing isnt really thast hard, try singing to some simple songs like Paranoid - Black Sabbath, or something that has a running bass line, i wouldnt say try sing a Police Song yet, i can barely do that.
the first song i could sing and play with was Electric Funeral - Black Sabbath, then like American Idiot, (year 8, i was a f**)
so yeh start simple then lead up, cos most of the time the Melody will kind of fit in with the Bass Line
