The day had dawned amid a flurry of white wings and fiery pelt.
To the casual observer, the pair locked in mortal combat would have appeared intent on killing one another... if the speed of their attacks was any indication.
But to the practiced eye, it would be noted that neither connected solidly with a blow. In fact the heavily boned land stallion was going as far as to spare the wind stallion's delicate wings any contact.
Until that same wind stallion spread them wide and blew a miniature dust storm in his face.
"Hold! What kind of tactic is that Crousader!" Flame snapped angrily, blinking his eyes to clear them. Across the dusty clearing, the wind stallion snorted. "Winning tactics. Dishonorable, yes, but they get the job done." he retorted, a sly twinkle in his sky blue eyes. Nearby, Blais stifled a laugh while Gully stared at the two older stallions curiously.

Cynara was on a casual walk close to her teepee, her emerald orbs flickered over the known territory. She pondered at the sounds she heard in the distance some were so familiar. She walked and grew to recognize them and the scent, Crousader and Blais. But there was another she did not know. She looked down to the open glade. She nickered softly to them, tilting her head. Crousader would probably get on her a** for being a distraction to Blais. Oh well, he could get over it. She paused wondering what they would due and with the flick of her tail she jumped through the brush that was the barrier between them. The mare watched the 'training' as they call it come to the halt as the barking of the unfamiliar one wrang out.

Gully's ears led the way for the rest of his head as he half turned to stare out into the surrounding forest at the unfamilar nicker. Eventually the rest of his body followed in a slow, quasi controlled roll that led to an all out barrel roll.
Ending, naturally at the feet of the dark young mare.
"Who be you?" the white bear queried with a giggle, unaware that Blais had followed him until the burly young stallion chuckled. "Your hearing never ceases to amaze me Gully, this is Cynara, a good friend of ours." he said, glancing at Cynara with a quick pleading glance to go along with what he said.
As for Flame and Crousader, they were arguing about ethics.

Cynara smiled at the little bear, he was soooo cute! She looked up to Blais with a slight sparkle in her eyes as he called her a good friend. Thats always a good feeling to hear someone call you a friend, but their was a slight hesitation in it. After all they had only met once, she expected nothing less. Her tail flickered looking at the other two, "Pleasure to meet you Gully." She said looking down to the bear, ha something that was shorter than her! She loved being short but sometimes when someone was smaller than you it felt like an accomplishment. Though, he was a different species...oh well. "I see Crousader is at it again. But I don't recognize the other." she looked at Blais hoping to be informed.

His bright grin faded slightly, but before he could reply in what was going to be an overly moddy reply, Gully chimned in again.
"That be Flame, my buddy and Blais's daddy. He be an old fart though, don't mind him." the bear said cheerfully, oblivious to the astonished look he was getting from Blais.

"Ah," so this is his father she thought to herself. Interesting. "An old fart, I didn't know a sweet thing like you could call some one an old fart." she smiled though it was rather funny, her brow rose at the bear flattering him a little just to get on his good side. She wondered what Cyrus would think if she called him an 'old fart.' Oh, not good. Not good at all, no sense of humor that guy. She looked at Blais which made her go into a bit of a silence. After a moment she looked to him, "So were you training again?" she asked with the flick of her tail occasionally giving eye contact and slight smiles to the bear to make sure he was included in the conversation.

"He doesn't mind... much. I just don't say it where he can hear me." The bear continued merrily, stopping only when Blais flicked him across the back with his long tail.
"As much as this pains me, do stop Gully... it isn't respectful." Blais said with a grimace, thinking of what would happen to both of them should the two elders catch wind of this conversation. Catching the hint, Gully sank down on his belly and rolled over so his belly was exposed. "Fine fine, I'll stop." he replied, a giggle warping the last two words.
Glaring at the bear, Blais changed the subject.
"You could say it was training... but I'd call it a 'let's beat Blais to a pulp then lecture him on how he shouldn't have let himself be beaten too a pulp.' Nevermind that both of them have more scars then I have hair and the fighting prowess of... well.. something fearsome." he complained, unaware that his tone had turned petulant and almost childish.

The female glanced to the bear nosing its chest, "Wait till you meet my father," she grinned and it slowly faded as the conversation ended. She frowned at him, "Aw you poor thing," she almost teased him nipping at his mane. "I'm sure you'll get better though but I hardly think that your that bad," the petite female replied. "And if you are, well you'll just have to get better than won't you?" she shook her short mane slightly, her voice was still soft with edge to it as she spoke of his training. She didn't want the conversation to get to dreary, so she tried to keep it light. Her emerald orbs traveled to Blaise and then to Gully. She had never met a bear, she had seen them just never met one and he was adorable so she didn't think she'd mind meeting another like him. She couldn't get over that he was cute, well to her he was she didn't know what others thought about him and frankly she didn't care. Her eyes turned back to the painted male in front of her whom seemed to be growing on her. His personality was like some she had never encountered which intrigued her.

Giggling again, Gully reached up with his wide white paws and batted at the small mare playfully. Much to Blais's chagrin.
To his credit though, he did manage a lopsided grin at her sally. "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger..." he said with a grin befitting the cryptic quote. "But one of these days I'll lay them both out at the same time." he added after a moment, shooting a quick glance over his shoulder at the still arguing older stallions. Listening for a moment, Blais grimaced. Words like "honor," "respectable teachings," and "consistency" were being loudly emphasized.
"I wonder if we should break them up..." the painted colt muttered.

Her ears flickered at the echoings of the stallions, boy they were deep. She laughed, "Seeing you take Crousader would be quite the thing but your father too, this would be interesting, but I'll be at the side lines cheering you on." she snickered. "We could interupt their fun," she made fun sarcastic. "I don't even think Crousader has noticed me, how unfortunate." she replied with the same teasing, sarcastic tone that was none the less playful. She flicked her tail, she had escaped the teepee without warning she wondered how long it would last...this interested her.

Glancing over his shoulder again, Blais had no doubt that Crousader was more then aware of Cynara's presence.
What worried him was how the loud the two were.... and how obvious it was that they were ignoring him and his conversation with Cynara. And now that he was thinking about it, Flame was no slop with his ears, and nor was he one to be so impolite. What are they up too...
Gully, who had been following the conversation with a curious twinkle in his eyes, giggled softly to himself and lumbered to his feet. He remembered dealing with Blais's sire back when Flame had been young and mare-shy. He also thought he remembered that sparring with other stallions somehow helped Flame look good for the ladies. So in Gully's world, it was time for intervention.
"Perhaps..." Blais started, until Gully barrel rolled back towards the two older males, not stopping until he landed with a thump against Flame's forlegs. Slack jawed, Blais wasn't quite sure what to say about his companion's...antics.

Cynara watched in wide eyed horror almost as the little bear went to thump against Flame's legs. She hadn't met him nor his personality she didn't know what to expect. She blinked a few times and then recovered from that slight time lapse of awkwardness now she just watched Crousader and Flame while standing beside Blais. "Well now, this is going to be interesting." she tilted her head slightly not taking her eyes off the two elder stallions.

Completey nonplussed, Flame simply braced himself until the bear righted himself, sparing only a brief glance down to assure himself that the bear was alright.
As for Gully, he was inordently pleased with himself, and he even went as far as to pad up to Crousader once he had regained his balance. Belatedly, Blais realized what the bear was about to do, but all he could do was groan as the expected tongue lolled out comically.
"Blais's turn yah? He be needin' to show off for pretty lady."

Cynara laughed, she hadn't been called pretty and lady in the same sentence. She grew up with boys, she was 'one of the guys' most of the time so this was quite interesting. Her ears perked forward as she had a semi idea what was going on, what she didn't understand was why Gully was starting it. That was what she least expected, well the slip of the tongue she could see but the rest didn't make sense from what she had first met of him, perhaps in his mind he was doing good. But sparring was fun, with Crousader she didn't think as much. She waited to hear what the mighty Crousader had to say about this after her laughing fit. She gave a brief apology before moving on however, "Sorry, not used to being called pretty lady in the same sentence; thank you though Gully. Your a charmer." she winked at him, she looked slightly over to Blais as he groaned. "You okay?"

Oblivious to Cynara's wink, Gully's wide violet eyes were fixed on Crousader, who was himself trying very hard to keep up his serious expression.
Flame, though, had no such inhibitions; so he chuckled freely. "Indeed..." he said, casting a sly glance towards his erstwhile son. "Well then, shall we?" the tall fiery soquili asked of his armored contemporary.
Turning his gaze away from Gully's wide eyes stare, Crousader nodded shortly in response to Flame's veiled question, unable to supress the small smirk at the corner of his mouth as he turned to look at Blais. Matching his blue gaze was Flame's golden eyes, which had started to glow slightly with anticipation.
Reading the writing on the wall, Blais actually backed up a step. "Um.. shouldn't you two at least introduce yourselves... it's not nice too... too...." He backed up another step, dangerously close to bumping into Cynara. "I mean, to not say your names... wouldn't want her to run away not knowing your names..." he continued lamely, amber eyes wide. They couldn't be serious about double teaming him!
Whatever thoughts they pair had, they weren't divulging them, though Flame did pause to incline his head graciously towards Cynara. "My apologies my dear, I am Flame." he said, eyes never leaving Blais.
