Cold took a hold on the evening just as strongly as the ice hanging to the trees. Though Esha had her thick layer of winter fur in her glossy pink coat, she could still feel the chill creep along her skin and settle into her body, making her shiver. But despite everything she smiled, her lavender eyes slipping with affection over the wintery landscape of white. The snow was hard and easy to walk on, only sinking a little as she put her weight upon it. But the coat of ice upon its surface also made her trod carefully, lest she slip. But my, it was going to be an interesting day, and that alone was reason enough to smile!

She paused, letting out a breath through her nostrils, the warm air visable before her. Just a few feet away was a small, frozen pond. It was probably no bigger then two soquili together, a very small thing. It was the kind of place you'd imagine to find small frogs and dragonflies in the spring. But for now it was a frozen mirror, still and sleeping.

There was something in the air that he couldn't place, something magical and haunting that gave him both a sense of anticipation and dread. He hadn't felt this way in quite a while, years in fact and much to his surprise, he wasn't in the least bit afraid. Instead, he tensed his wings slightly to encourage the blood to flow through them more swiftly and shook his mane.

He was used to flying in the darkened hours, he rarely struggled as his wings emitted a peculiar and almost eerie glow within the night sky. He would not be the first to admit it, but he was often overwhelmed with pride when the foals within his herd described him as a "shooting star", there were even times when he wished he could step out of his body to watch...but that wouldn't happen, so he would have to take their word for it.

Nevertheless, as he guided himself through the darkening skies his eyes did catch sight of something quite out of the ordinary. He wasn't an owl, couldn't see in the dark but the moon was casting a peculiar light below him and against the 'dusty' mirror of the pond below him there was something else.

He couldn't quite explain it, but that feeling, that dread.

"Not again." He muttered bitterly as he swung himself round and commenced a rather brash dive through the air towards the soquili...he just hoped that she wouldn't run towards him because he suspected he would pack quite the punch if he misjudged and rammed into her.

...Actually, he'd rather she just stood there.

But he rarely got his wish, Ever.

"Mm?" Esha's ears flicked forward as something shined from the corner of her eye. She turned her head and saw a light shoot across the sky. A shooting star? But instead of vanishing like one, it grew brighter, nearer. That was something quite new. And that was certainly no shooting star! Her smile dropped away, her expression talking a calm, but more serious look as she took a step or two back. She wasn't afraid of...well, whatever it was, but she certainly didn't want it falling on her! That would be quite unwise. At yet, she couldn't track clearly where it was going, it was moving so quickly and at such an odd angle. She she paused, her body quivering with tense muscles in case she needed to leap or dash away. Because it was drawing nearer and it's "landing" seemed inevitable.

Ah yes, landing. The concept had always evaded him to the point where his mother used to enter fits of panic everytime she saw him pull off his trademark stunt and yet - each time he knew exactly how to stop and each time he never got hurt, so why should today be any different than any other time?

As he continued to approach though, he gave a mental curse as she moved but luckily it was backwards[/].

"Do not move!" He roared, gritting his teeth as he braced himself for his rather abrupt 'landing' which consisted of him cupping his wings to the point that he was literally thrown backwards by the force of the wind against him. Had his wings not been quite so strong a sickening crunch would have been expected but alas...

As the 'wind' seemed to settle around him he remained suspended for just a few seconds before dropping almost silently to the ground, the softest of crunches scarcely heard above the whisper of his wings 'buffing' before folding against his sides.

...His appearance had been rather unexpected though.

Terribly rude.

All of a sudden the stallion appeared rather sheepish and he cleared his throat as he glanced round briefly at the frozen pond, it was so small and yet he was instilled with some much fear.

"I uh..." He cleared his throat again and glanced towards the mare.

"...Pond, s'dangerous." He informed her in a stupid manner.

Esha's mane and tail were thrown about by the force of the wind, sending it into a multi-hued mess. When the air had settled she shook herself so that she could see again-for her hair was quite long- only to find a stranger standing before her. Mm...was he the 'shooting star' she had seen before? She blinked once and then let a grin spread across her muzzle. "That was quite the flashy entrence," she complimented in a warm tone.

She let her body relaxed as she tilted her head to the side slightly, her ears perking forward, "Mm...? The pond? That's very kind of you, to be concerned, but I didn't plan on walking on it." Her smile was genuine, and her reply without malice or mockery, only a friendly invitation for conversation.

Again, the stallion appeared extremely sheepish as she inadvertently pointed out his stupidity. He knew she meant nothing by it, could tell from her tone, but the fact still remained that he had completely overreacted. Still, as she made reference to his entrance a smile did tickle at his lips and slowly but surely, it crept onto them.

The effect would have been staggering to some, not quite so impressive to others but the loss of the sheepish expression resulted in the unveiling of a set of rather noble figures. The feathers above his brow ceased their twitching and he gave a slight bow to indicate his gratitude.

"Most would call it a suicidal entrance." He pointed out before chuckling, "But should I avoid your pun or make further comment in reference to it?"

"As suicidal as a falcon's dive," Esha said with a warm grin. Just because something seemed unsafe didn't make it so-and besides, who didn't like a little danger? Life was too short to be flittering about being careful about every little detail. And if he knew he had control of himself and could land in such a way then so be it. She certainly didn't see a problem. She chuckled a little, turning her head and letting her tail sway to her right, "As for the pun~That's entirely up to you, is it not?"

"Well, I am of a rather 'flashy' quality." He pointed out, motioning to his wings before offering a slight smile, "But I was expecting something along the lines of 'rude' as opposed to something complimentary." Following this, he canted his head to the side and considered her words. Like so many of those in the Kawani she was unusually polite and accommodating - there was just one little difference.

She hadn't called him a danger, she had made his landing seem completely...

"Natural." He murmured aloud before clearing his throat, "Am I to assume that you have seen others take part in such questionable activities at all?" He mused gently.

Esha laughed, "No, not quite. I've never seen such a landing. But that only makes it more unique and creative, doesn't it?" She continued to smile, her relaxed nature continuing to show through in the most friendly of manners. "Besides, who am I to tell you how to land? I certainly don't have wings," she teased gently. She could observe birds and other winged-equines fly, but could never do so herself after all. And they were his wings, his life, his experiences. He should live them as he pleased.

"No, you do not." He agreed, thoroughly stunned by how agreeable she was being. He had met quite a few soquili lately and everyone of them had an opinion on something either he or another did. It was rather refreshing (and a little odd) to meet a soquili who had no problem with anything he did in the slightest.

"I..." He was rather at a loss for words, completely dumbstruck.

Odd. Very odd.

"You really thought it was creative?" He enquired curiously, mentally chastising himself for reverting to a rather adolescent mentality. When all else failed and he couldn't formulate a decent sentence in his mind - it really did pay to rely on false vanity.

Although he was curious as to why she thought it was unique.

Esha only smiled, raising her brows as she questioned him. She wondered why he seemed to have such little confidene in his own ability. It didn't really occure to her that other's might tease him or scold him about it. "Of course. It was your own style, was it not? We all have little things that show parts of ourselves, after all. From little to small...though I'm sure that's only one of them," she nodded her head, her bangs falling in her eyes as she did so, though she didn't seem to mind so much.

Well, she was certainly completive to say the least. Viewing the world in a very different light than most to the point that Grencia found it rather comforting. In a way, she reminded him of his mother...She calmly reflected on the topic at hand before drawing conclusions; conclusions that rarely served to offend anyone.

"Well yes, it was." He agreed at last, offering a tentative smile as he tossed the mane from his face. Tickling whiskers he could handle, combining that with a mane and he would struggle.

"If I may be so bold to ask, er...who are you exactly?"
