Finally, the new Legend of Zelda game has some light shined on it. In a recent interview, the director of Twilight Princess has pointed out three things that stand out in the title (or overall gameplay):

-The "Twilight"
-The Princess
-Animals

The Twilight apparently is a dark force that threatens to transform Hyrule into a barren wasteland. And here's the kicker: when Link steps inside the Twilight, he transforms into a wolf. Kind of similar to the Dark World of A Link to the Past, except he can actually fight in his wolf form, for double the gameplay features.

The Princess of Hyrule, Zelda, will feature prominently in the new game. In the prototype character art for her, she is extremely detailed, and carries a blade encrested with the Royal Family's coat of arms. Will Zelda do battle in the new game?

If you have seen the two videos released showing the game, you might have noticed that Link interacted with more animals than just his trusty steed and his slaughtered cuckoos. Throughout the game, Link will interact with many animals including (but not limited to): monkies, felines, canines, and cows. Instead of just interacting with him, some animals will even help him through the game, even inside of dungeons. Will Link's transformation somehow enable him to interact with animals?

To me this sounds like a Link to the Past as in the Dark World and Light. But it also seams like The Minish Cap where when you shrink you can talk to the minish and other things like cats, dogs, cows, and cuckoos.

Kind of. In the Minish, the tiny world is kinda like a whole new dimension.

I'm not exactly sure how the "twilight" works, though. So if there is the twilight world, how do you access it? Portal? Walking into a random area?

Oh wells. We'll just see when it comes out.

I'm not sure, but I believe that it's one of two things:

-A "force" that gradually grows throughout the game, and it consumes more land as the story progresses.

-Something similar to the Dark World, except that it's not just another "world" with the same landmarks, kind of like two sides of the same coin.

So kind of like Planet Aether in Metroid Prime 2?

I believe that this twlight sounds like time based. When the night comes, you enter the Twlight world.

It might be.

In the preview in NoM (Nintendo Offical Magazine), they talk about Link being grabed into a dark portal.

(Their very words)

"He sees a door engulfed in a strange dark energy, but as he peers in, a hideous hand lunges out and pulls him in."

Any bets that this "hand" is the crazy lil thing ringing Link when he's a wolf? xp

Maybe. Then again, they just might be super Wall Masters. They were a major pain in Wind Waker.

Actually, they were pretty easy for me in WW, at least you could stun them and whatnot. I hated them in A Link to the Past.

Yeah, I saw the videos too, and this game is starting to sound amazing. Okay, It always seemed amazing, but you know what I mean.

Honestly though, at first I wasn't pleased with the wolf idea, but now it seems kind of neat. I still hope it doesn't take up too much of the game though. I want to be Link, not wolf Link, for the most part.

And Zelda is supposed to play a bigger part I believe. If this is true, maybe we will see some Zelda-Monster combat.

Apparently Gannon is back too. It was mentioned briefly in a video with the creators (I believe E3 footage I saw from Gamespot).

I'm looking forward to this game bigtime, and I hope to god they don't deley it forever, like so many companies tend to do now.
Although the big N is usually good about not deleying stuff.

A quick side note here, I know this isn't TP related, but I really hope to hear info on this rumered DS Zelda game. It was confirmed that it isn't four swords, but something totally new. Maybe they'll even allow some kind of connectivity for extras?

It isn't a rumor. A non Four Swords game is coming to the DS, as well as a new Zelda adventure for the Revolution a few months after the console is released. Nintendo just might be the dark horse in the new console war.

from the way he put it it sounds like it could either be a remake or a new zelda game.
