 Winter was in full swing and the forest was quick to show it. Trees towered above the earth with dark, empty branches like spider limbs, casting slivers of shadows against the frozen ground. Only the pines held the same look from spring, summer, and fall, their needles a dull green against the gray and brown that seemed to characterize this area for this season alone. So you can imagine what it was like when a bright pink mare began to walk through the area. She stood out like a sore thumb.
Esha was rather content despite the cold. A smile lay across her muzzle as she glanced around the area with affection. It was new to her and that was just how she liked it. Waking up in a new place, seeing new faces and sights...those were some of the things she enjoyed most in life.

 Lorraine walked slowly, admireing the thickly blanketed scenery. The chilled wind that blew played with her multi coloured mane and tail, sighing contently, though she wouldn't mind being warmer.
Slowly she came upon a pink horse and smiled. Finally she would get to meet some one. They looked nice, so mabey she could talk to them. She pondered this in her head as her steps slowed down. A branch full of snow gave way and snaped. She jumped turing her head i time to she the giant snow pile fall. She snorted and shook her mane, anoyed that thats what scared her.

Esha's ears twitched and she turned her head slightly. What was that...? Shifting her lavender gaze she saw another mare not far away, who had jumped as a branch released a large amount of snow. "Are you ok?" she said with a warm smile, turning to trot over to her fellow equine. She looked ok, just a little startled, but it was always good to ask and be sure. Some of those loads that trees held could be heavy, especially if they were coated in ice. But it didn't appear anything had actually hit the other female.

Lorraine turned to see the pink mare and smiled. "Yeah, I'm fine. Dunno about the tree though." She said giggling some. She looked back to the tree and shook her head.

Esha laughed a little and shook her head, "Well! Hopefully the tree will be alright then." Her voice was warm, a nice alto one would say, and showed off a light and welcoming attitude. "I'm Esha," she added with a wide smile, "How about you?" Time for proper introductions! Right?

Lorri smiled. "Lorraine. Or Lorri, if you will." She said smiling. "Pleasure to meet you Esha." She replied happily, giving her tail a flick out of habbit. Esha seemed like a verry nice mare and she liked her.

"The feeling is mutial," Esha said with a grin and a dip of her head in friendly nod. Lorri seemed to be good company, which was nice to know. Some other equines weren't quite so friendly-not that that ever really bothered Esha. But it sure made things a little more...awkward and less fun. "So what are you doing out here on this fine day?" she chuckled, eyeing the bare branches and watching her breath just barely show in the chilled air.

Lorri smiled. "Looking to meet others really. I'm new and figured I had better start meeting some friends." She said a soft smile tugging at her mouth. It was nice meeting others and she enjoyed it quite well.

"Well! It seems like your lucky, mm?" Esha said with a grin and a tilt of her head, her bangs splashing across her face. "After all, you've met me! And I'm quite open to company," she murmured, her voice light and almost like laughter, but full of welcoming warmth. If it was friendship Lorri wanted, it was friendship she'd get. Esha was more then happy to offer it.
